Australian data centre provider NextDC has officially launched a new data centre in South Australia (SA). Dubbed A1 Adelaide, the facility has an IT capacity of 5 MW across 3,000 square metres of IT space. The company claims the facility is Adelaide's first Tier IV certified data centre, providing the critical infrastructure needed to support and accelerate the digital transformation of government and business sectors operating in SA.

NextDC A1 Adelaide
A1 will provide digital infrastructure supporting Artificial Intelligence (AI) workloads and access to a national ecosystem of over 750 global cloud and digital service providers, NextDC said in a statement this month.
Collaborative Partnerships
Australian fibre network provider Vocus is collaborating with NextDC at the A1 Adelaide facility, enhancing the Vocus fibre network capability from Adelaide to Melbourne, Perth, and Darwin to meet the growing demand for cloud computing and AI technologies, the official release said.
Other organisations, such as Aussie Broadband, New Era Technology, GSL Networks, Sygnite, Unibeam, and Netvault, have also committed to being foundational partners at A1 Adelaide.

Driving Digital Transformation
NextDC said, "A1 Adelaide, located in the heart of Adelaide's CBD, offers high-density power, liquid cooling, and diverse connectivity, providing real-time responsiveness to mission-critical requirements for key South Australian industries such as aerospace, defence, and mining."
The South Australian Treasurer said the new facility is a key advancement for South Australia's digital economy and will provide numerous investment opportunities for local and global organisations.
