Rumours surrounding Samsung’s next flagship don’t seem to have an end at all. We have been treated to a large number of leaks and video renders of the phone almost every single day in the recent past. And, today seems no different. Yes, another Galaxy S8 rumour popped up on the internet today. Evan Blass (@evleaks), one of the famous and almost ever-reliable tipster has revealed the colour options of the smartphone along with pricing details.
Speaking of which, although almost everything regarding the upcoming Galaxy S8 has been leaked already, pricing was still a mystery. With Blass’s new leak, the mystery has been unravelled now. Going by his tweet, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be priced at €799 (approximately Rs. 56,199) while the bigger Galaxy S8+ will come with a price tag of €899 (approximately Rs. 63, 233). If this turns out to be the official pricing, we must say that it’s a huge amount of money. And, they better be worth it.
Besides, Blass has also revealed the colour options of the Galaxy S8 and S8+. According to his tweet, both the handsets will be made available in three different colours: Black Sky, Orchid Grey, and Arctic Silver.
We’ve been hearing a lot about both these phones lately, and if these rumours and anything to go by, the Galaxy S8 is said to don a metal and glass sandwiched body with a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED QHD display (6.2-inch display for Galaxy S8+). And of course, minimal bezels. At the heart of both of these handsets will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset (or Exynos 8895 based on where you buy the handset) teamed up with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage space.
As per the imaging department, we are not sure about the megapixel count yet. However, Samsung should ideally improve the picture quality while keeping all the best features from the Galaxy S7’s camera intact. On the software side of things, both the phones should run Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box.
A 3,000mAh battery is said to provide the juice for the standard variant whereas a 3,500mAh battery is expected to back the Plus variant.
Samsung will launch the Galaxy S8 and S8+ at an Unpacked event in New York on March 29th with the devices hitting stores on April 28th in the US. There’s no word on the Indian launch date, though.
