MTS India Appoints Ex-Reliance and Ex-Airtel Top Honchos

Sistema Shyam Teleservices, which operates under MTS India brand, has announced the new appointments in key positions in certain circles.

Umesh Durve is now the Chief Operating Officer in Karnataka, and Siraj Abbasi will take charge of the Company’s business in UP West circle. Both will directly report to Dmitry Shukov, CEO, MTS India.

Prior to joining MTS family, the 23-year industry veteran Umesh Durve was in Bharti Airtel as Vice President of Market Operations. While Siraj was Circle Business Head, UP East at Reliance Communications, where he was driving data revenues and setting up exclusive distributor network for EVDO devices.

According to Dmitry Shukov, Chief Executive Officer, MTS India, “It gives me immense pleasure to welcome Umesh Durve and Siraj Abbasi to the MTS family. Both, Umesh and Siraj have over two decades of industry experience and have been associated with leading telecom companies in the past. They have a proven leadership track record and I look forward working with them. I am confident that our circle teams in Karnataka and UP West circles would immensely benefit from their leadership skills and vast knowledge of the industry.”
