Lenovo-owned Motorola has reportedly slashed the price of its mid-range smartphone, Moto X4 in India. According to the Mumbai-based retailer, Mahesh Telecom, the Moto X4' 3GB RAM variant with 32GB of internal storage can now be picked up for as low as Rs 13,999. As of this writing, Flipkart is yet to update the price, while Amazon India is already selling the phone at the new price. Before this price cut, the 3GB RAM variant of Moto X4 was retailing for Rs 15,999. With this price cut, the Moto X4 makes the Moto G6 Plus look like even more pricier at Rs 22,499 because they both sport the same Snapdragon 630 chipset.

Moto X4 Receives a Much-Needed Price Cut

Motorola has been a different company altogether in the last one week than what we saw in the last six months. The company has launched the Motorola One Power at an aggressive price of Rs 15,999, followed by this price cut of the Moto X4. Notably, only the 3GB RAM version of Moto X4 received the price cut, while the 4GB RAM is selling at Rs 17,999 and the 6GB RAM version is available at Rs 24,999.

The Moto X4 at Rs 13,999 can be a decent buy because it offers features such as IP68 water and dust resistance, premium build quality and allows users to connect five Bluetooth devices at the same time. But it features the older processor in the form Snapdragon 630 SoC, which according to Motorola is still new and powerful that's the reason why it launched the Moto G6 Plus at a price of Rs 22,499.

Moto G6 Plus Looks Like a Tough Sell for the Company

The Moto X4 and Moto G6 Plus share a similar set of specifications, albeit the former comes with some modern features such as the 18:9 display, better cameras and Android 8.1 Oreo. The Moto G6 Plus, priced at Rs 22,499 offers a 5.9-inch Full HD+ display on the front and also has a glass back. Under the hood, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset, clubbed with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

The Moto G6 Plus offers dual rear cameras of 12MP+5MP with dual-pixel autofocus technology. On the front, it has an 8MP shooter. The phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and is backed by a 3200mAh battery.

Moto X4: Specifications and Features

Talking about the Moto X4, it was launched back in November 2017 in India. The phone sports a 5.2-inch Full HD+ display on the front, albeit has a 16:9 aspect ratio. At the heart of the Moto X4, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset, coupled with 3GB/4GB/6GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage. It also offers 12MP+5MP dual rear cameras along with a 16MP front-facing camera. The phone has a 3000mAh battery with fast charging support.
