Microsoft is considering the pros and cons of bringing Cortana to rival smartphone platforms; iOS and Android. Cortana is a digital personal assistant developed by Microsoft and is currently being used in Windows Phone 8.1. It competes with Google Now and Siri used in Android and iOS respectively.

According to Marcus Ash, group program manager for Cortana on Windows Phone, porting Cortana to other platforms would help them in collecting more data, improving the performance of Cortana itself. Although, chances are that the list of Cortana specific features might be crippled on platforms other than Windows Phone. Microsoft is also working on bringing Cortana to its own desktop operating system; Windows.
