Mobile Handset maker Sony Ericsson, the joint venture of Japanese consumer electronics company Sony Corporation and the Swedish telecommunications company Ericsson has appointed Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor as its Brand Ambassador in Asia Pacific region.
During a event organized by Sony Ericsson on 26th March in New Delhi, Kareena Kapoor unveiled the exciting new range of Sony Ericsson handsets. In the presence of Hirokazu Ishizuka, Sony Ericsson Corporate Vice-President & Head of Asia Pacific region, Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications she revealed XPERIA™ X10, XPERIA™ X10 mini, XPERIA™ X10 mini pro, Vivaz™, and Vivaz™ pro - Sony Ericsson's new portfolio of high-end mobile phones. During the press conference Bebo posed for the cameras and happily showed off XPERIA™ X10.
Already endorsing Sony Vaio's new series of super thin 'Size Zero' laptop Kareena also becomes the face of Sony Ericsson's Xperia and Vivaz series handsets.
Mr.Hirokazu Ishizuka explains: Being one of the most widely-followed youth-icons, Kareena matches the level of energy, vibrancy, passion and fun associated with Sony Ericsson, and thereby elevates the aspiration value of the brand. Xperia phones are convergence and powerhouse devices, while Vivazs are meant as entertainment phones. Note that Vivaz is the first Sony Ericsson phone supporting High Definition (HD) video capture. Excellently made Xperia and Vivaz are all 3G enabled handsets which is going to be sold more in coming 3G days.
Sony Ericsson plans to grab a considerable market share in the high-end mobile or smartphone market segment which is currently dominated by Nokia, BlackBerry, HTC and Apple. All new handsets from Sony Ericsson is priced between Rs 26000 and Rs 36000 in India. They also plans for rolling out some new low priced handsets, ranging sub Rs 10000.
