Jio 5G Network and Data Traffic
Jio also mentioned that it is the largest operator globally in terms of data traffic, with 5G accounting for 31 percent of Jio's wireless data traffic, serving around 130 million 5G users. The company noted that this growth momentum is driven by 5G Mobility and AirFiber.
Specifically, Jio highlighted that the entire 5G data is carried on Jio's own 5G+4G combo core, and its 5G network is quantum secure. Regarding data consumption on its network, Jio said that the uptick in 5G consumption drove per capita usage to 30.3 GB per month.
"Strong demand for bundled entertainment and connectivity solutions has led to the highest-ever quarterly home connections, exceeding 1.1 million," Reliance Jio shared in its presentation.
Jio highlighted that Network Slicing on its Standalone 5G (SA 5G) network and its unique point-to-multipoint deployment are transforming fixed broadband infrastructure in India.
Network and Spectrum Acquisition
The company also noted its recent spectrum acquisition in the 1800 MHz band in Bihar and West Bengal during the 2024 spectrum auction. With this acquisition, Jio's spectrum footprint across bands stands at 26,801 MHz (uplink and downlink).
Jio emphasised its advantage as the only operator in India with access to low, mid, and high-band (700 MHz, 3300 MHz, and 26 GHz) spectrum for 5G, giving it a unique edge in 5G.

Jio AirFiber Service
The company said it is the only operator running 5G across all the bands in India. This means Jio's 5G network is also live on the mmWave band (26 GHz) along with low and mid-bands. However, it is unclear whether Jio is offering 5G FWA service on the mmWave band or using the low or mid-wave bands for its AirFiber service, as there is no specific mention of this.
Jio updates its website with the AirFiber city count as new cities are added to its AirFiber coverage. As of this writing, according to the website, Jio's AirFiber service is available across 7,577 towns in India. Now that the service is available across India, users should be able to request Jio AirFiber and enjoy the service.
