After a long wait, Idea Cellular has revised the Rs 149 tariff plan for its prepaid subscribers in the Himachal Pradesh circle. The company has revised two plans for the circle- Rs 149 and Rs 109. The former is revised to offer unlimited voice calls, 28GB of data, and 100 SMS per day for 28 days, while the latter also gives same benefits albeit the data benefit, which is just 1GB data for 28 days. We received this information from a retailer, and we checked the availability of both the plans in other circles, but they're still available with earlier benefits itself. For now, we confirm that Idea prepaid subscribers in Himachal Pradesh region can recharge the revised plans.

Talking about the revised plan benefits, the Rs 149 tariff plan now offers benefits on par with Airtel Rs 149 plan. It gives unlimited voice calls including roaming calls, 100 SMS per day and 1GB data per day for 28 days. The Rs 109 tariff plan, which as we reported yesterday is valid for 14 days in other circles, but for Himachal Pradesh users, it offers benefits for 28 days. The Rs 109 prepaid plan provides users with unlimited voice calls including roaming calls, 100 SMS per day and 1GB data for 28 days. Airtel also has a similar plan, but it's priced affordably at Rs 93.

However, Idea Cellular is limiting the voice calls to 250 minutes per day and 1000 minutes per week. Earlier, it used to 300 minutes per day and 1200 minutes per week, but both Idea and Vodafone reduced it for some unknown reasons. Airtel and Reliance Jio are offering unlimited voice calls without any FUP limit, which is a good thing. Idea is also offering other plans of Rs 398, Rs 499 and Rs 509 in the same circle as you can see in the image below.

Airtel also has a Rs 149 tariff plan and is offering 1GB data per day, unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day for 28 days, but only for a few users. But Idea Cellular's plan is an open market one in Himachal Pradesh which is a good thing. Hopefully, Airtel also makes the Rs 149 plan an open market. Also, the Rs 93 tariff plan of Airtel is also a segmented one and not an open market one.

With Airtel and Idea Cellular revising the tariff plans to compete with Reliance Jio, Vodafone India is now left out from the race. We're expecting Vodafone to join the party very soon.

Both Airtel and Idea Cellular revised the tariff plans because of the threat from Reliance Jio as the telco is offering 1.5GB data per day, unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day for 28 days. Still, Jio is ahead of the private telcos. You can comment down below whether the Idea's Rs 149 plan is revised in your circle or not so that other readers will be benefitted with it.
