We had earlier reported that Idea Cellular was offering Mobile Wallet services silently. Now, the company has launched a full-fledged app for its wallet services named Idea Money in the Google Play Store for Android users.
The mobile wallet app from Idea Cellular is similar to PayTM or MobiKwik. Idea Money allows users to pay their mobile bills and recharge mobile phone or DTH connections. Using the app, customers can also pay bills for their home electricity, gas, and landline connections. However, the company is working to bring support for water bill payments.
As a newbie, the app is at very basic stage right now, and it lacks many important features. Those who use PayTM or MobiKwik would find the app harder to use. It also redirects to company's webpage frequently. Also, the UI doesn't modern.
One would also find it hard to search transaction details from the app as the app drawer doesn't have the option. When recharging a number, a user has to enter the company and circle details as the app lacks a feature called 'Smart Track' .
Maybe, Idea has launched the app in a hurry to compete with the likes of Airtel Money, PayTM, & MobiKwik. It's sure that they won't find many takers if they offer a low quality app. However, if you're interested, you can use the app by downloading it through the Google Play Store as they are offering 5 percent cashback on every transaction.
