Huawei Launches Nova 3 Smartphone With Dual Front Camera Setup Along With Huawei TalkBand 5

Huawei has launched its new phone by advancing the Nova series of smartphones. The Nova 3 which debuted in China today comes powered with the HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC. Adding on top of this processor is the Huawei GPU Turbo which supports the graphics on the phone. The device boots Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.2 skin from Huawei. The highlighting feature of the phone is the ability to detect over 500 scenes using Artificial Intelligence (AI). In addition to this new phone, Huawei has also introduced the all-new Huawei TalkBand B5 fitness tracker. Huawei had last launched the B3 fitness tracker in 2016, and the TalkBand B5 is its successor. This Bluetooth tracker lets users attend phone calls and listen to music while maintaining an active lifestyle. There is also a 24-hour heart rate monitor with Huawei’s TruRelax Technology.

Huawei Nova 3 Specifications and Features
The Huawei Nova 3 sports a 6.3-inch (1080x2340 pixels) full HD+ display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio along with 85% NTSC colour gamut. The processor, as we mentioned is an octa-core Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC. Paired with this chipset is the Mali-G72 GPU and 6GB of RAM. The phone also sports a dual rear camera setup with a 16MP primary sensor with a f/1.8 aperture and PDAF, and the secondary camera is the 24MP shooter with a f/1.8 aperture. Similar to the rear camera setup, the cameras on the front also come in dual combination with the primary sensor being a 24MP shooter with a f/2.0 aperture and a 2MP secondary sensor. The fingerprint sensor also makes its way to the rear side with the phone also supporting Face Unlock. There is a feature resembling Apple’s Animoji which Huawei has dubbed as 3D Qmoji. The front cameras support this feature while the rear cameras support the AI scene recognition.

Connectivity options on the Huawei Nova 3 include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone packs a 3750mAh battery, and the dimensions measure 157x73.7x7.3mm. There are two storage options offered by Huawei which are 64GB and 128GB. Both the variants come with the choice for expandable storage via SD card (expandable up to 256GB).

The Huawei TalkBand B5 sports a 1.13-inch AMOLED display with 2.5D curved glass protection. The band also touts a dust and water resistant build by scoring an IP67 rating. As per the company’s claims, the display has been increased by 2.4x compared to its previous version. , and there is also a dual microphone setup with noise reduction capability which facilitates high definition audio calling. The display lets the users see any call ID, along with a speed dial option and an option to mute any voice calls. The band requires Huawei EMUI 4.1 to enable the caller ID and call mute functionality.

The fitness-related features on the TalkBand B5 include 24-hour heart rate monitoring and activity tracking which supports walking, running, cycling, and other exercise monitoring. Huawei has embedded the watch with TruSeen 2.0 Technology. Also, the TruSleep 2.0 cardiopulmonary coupled dynamics spectrum (CPC) monitor sleep structure, including deep sleep and analyse sleep patterns, based on the data the band also generates recommendations. There is also the TruRelax Technology which analyses stress status and heart rate variability.

Additional settings on the TalkBand B5 include sports and goal setting, a sedentary reminder as well as a real-time message reminder and smart alarm clock. The battery on the device is a 108mAh one which has been claimed to deliver up to six hours of talk time or up to 3.5 days of battery life on a single charge. The dimensions of the band measure 58.2x23.3x12.9mm, and it weighs 40 grams, while the headset measures 44.1x20x11.9mm and weighs 14.3 gram.

Huawei has also opened up pre-orders for both the Nova 3 and Huawei TalkBand B5 on Vmall in China. The Nova 3 will debut in colours options of Purple, Black, Blue, and Gold colour options while the Sports Edition of TalkBand B5 will come with strap colours of Ash, Black, and Brown colour options. The Business Edition of the band will debut with a metal strap.
