Hathway Broadband Inks Partnership With Netflix to Offer Bundled Video Streaming Services

Hathway Broadband, a well-known Internet Service Provider (ISP) which has operations in India has inked a partnership with video content provider Netflix. As part of the partnership, Netflix will offer video streaming services to Hathway's eight lakh subscribers in the country. Under the alliance, Netflix will be offered through Hathway's set-top box that includes a remote with a dedicated Netflix button to allow users to launch the service directly. Furthermore, Hathway' subscribers will also be able to pay for their Netflix subscription using their Hathway bill, a statement said, according to PTI.

Hathway and Netflix Partnership Details

"In this smart and digital era, customers are looking at leading internet entertainment services like Netflix to access high quality, well-produced entertainment," Hathway Managing Director Rajan Gupta said. He added that the Hathway set-top box would be bundled with its high-speed, unlimited fibre-to-home monthly plans.

Tony Zameczkowski, Vice President Business Development for Netflix Asia, said the company is excited to partner with Hathway Broadband in India to bring the latest technologies and great stories under one roof.

Netflix is one of the world's largest internet entertainment service with 130 million subscribers in over 190 countries. It doesn't disclose country-specific numbers. As of March 31, 2018, Hathway Broadband had 8,00,000 broadband customers.

Netflix is Expanding its Partnerships in India

In recent times, Netflix has been aggressively partnering with Indian telecom and broadband service providers. Very recently, the telco inked a partnership with Bharti Airtel to provide free three months of Netflix subscription with select postpaid and broadband plans, and now, it partnered with Hathway Broadband. Already, the OTT content provider is offering a free subscription to Vodafone postpaid users on select plans.

Hathway Unlimited Broadband Plans

Firstly, Hathway is providing broadband services in Aurangabad, Bhilai, Bengaluru, Baroda, Chennai, Chandigarh, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad, Surat, Thane, Visakhapatnam, Vadodara and Vellore cities.

However, Hathway is not offering unlimited broadband plans in all the cities, instead, it's offering them in popular cities such as Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai and so on.

In Hyderabad city, Hathway has a 50 Mbps broadband plan which doesn't come with any FUP limit. The plan is priced aggressively at Rs 699 per month. Hathway is also offering the 50 Mbps unlimited broadband plan in two months, three months, six months and yearly rentals. For two months, Hathway will charge Rs 1198; For three months, the charges are Rs 1797; For six months, they are 2694, and for one year, the final charges are Rs 4788.
