Today the spectrum auction completed the third day with 6 successful rounds of bidding taking the total to 17 rounds. Even today there was no demand for 700 MHz and 900 MHz bands. Most of the action revolved around 2300 MHz and 2500 MHz bands since they are lower priced and have a good device ecosystem for 4G deployment.

The 850 MHz band saw decent bidding activity, there was fresh demand in Gujarat, Punjab and Rajasthan circles since the close of bidding on day 2. Only in Rajasthan the demand exceeded the supply of spectrum at the end of round 17.

The 1800 MHz band saw subdued action with fresh demand only in Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh east circles since the close of bidding on day 2. In both circles the demand exceeded supply of airwaves at the end of round 17. Still no takers for Karnataka and Odisha circles.

The 2100 MHz band saw marginal activity with fresh demand only in Haryana circle since the close of bidding on day 2. In no circle did the demand exceed supply of spectrum at the end of round 17.

The 2300 MHz band witnessed good action today with fresh demand in Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra circles since the close of bidding on day 2. In Bihar and Maharashtra circles the demand was equal to supply and will warrant a price increase in round 18 but in no circle did the demand exceed supply of airwaves at the end of round 17.

The 2500 MHz band also picked up good pace with fresh demand in Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, North East, Odisha and Punjab circles since the close of bidding on day 2. In no circle did the demand exceed supply of spectrum at the end of round 17.
