BSNL Launches WiMAX Broadband with 7mbps Speed in RajasthanIndia’s National telecom backbone and state-owned telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) launches  first commercial WiMAX the 4th Generation Wireless Broadband Service in the state of Rajasthan with speed up to 7 mbps to empowered the rural India with High Speed Super Fast Internet.

BSNL WiMAX high speed wireless broadband connectivity aimed Rural Empowerment and offers video conferencing, tele-medicine service and tele-education, besides providing other services through local administrative body i.e. Panchayat Samiti (Block Headquarters) like payment of utility bills, issue of birth certificates, land records, on line vehicle registration etc.




BSNL introduces WiMAX Broadband service with the cheapest fixed monthly rental of just Rs.140 for rural areas and initially erect 200 WiMAX BTS in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, and announced that services in 1,000 Block Headquarters (Panchayat Samiti) will be launched across India soon.

BSNL WiMAX service was launched by Communication Minister of State Sachin Pilot from Ajmer."This unique technology has been deployed for the first time in our country. Through this BSNL will usher in a new era of growth in rural areas. This technology offers broadband speed of 7 mbps at a distance of 15 kms," said Sachin Pilot Communication Minister.
