The much awaited news for the Indian mobile users to cherish have come out as the Department of Telecom announced free national roaming for state-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) customers.
Addressing the media in New Delhi on Tuesday, Union minister for Communications and Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad announced the historic decision, a reason to celebrate for the users of India’s largest and oldest communication service provider. BSNL has a whopping customer base of over 117 million users.
The minister added that the Full mobile portability will be given from July for the 969.89 million Indian mobile phone users. In May, BSNL had cut roaming tariff by up to 40 percent for its prepaid and postpaid mobile connection following a telecom tariff order issued by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India.
