Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has been offering yearly prepaid tariff plans for a while now, and the new addition to this list is the Rs 1,999 plan. BSNL has introduced a new promotional plan of Rs 1,999 in Tamil Nadu & Chennai circles, offering both data and voice calling for one year. The Combo plan of Rs 1,999 is applicable only to BSNL prepaid subscribers in the said regions. The all-new plan offers benefits of 2GB data per day which takes the overall data benefit to 730GB for 365 days. And the best part with this prepaid plan is it gives unlimited voice calling too. With this new plan, BSNL takes on Reliance Jio and Airtel, but BSNL is offering way better benefits at a lower price than the two private telcos.

BSNL-Data-Tariff

BSNL has introduced this plan on a promotional basis in the circle, and it’s valid only until September 22, 2018. BSNL is offering 2GB of data per day; An overall data benefit of 730GB, converting to a per GB price of Rs 2.73. The same plan also gives the user unlimited voice calls without any FUP limit, but the free calling will not be applicable in Delhi and Mumbai circles because BSNL is not operating in these two circles. Lastly, it also provides a user 100 SMS per day for the entire validity period of 365 days, meaning, the Rs 1999 plan will offer 36,500 SMSes for one year.

Aforesaid, this is a promotional plan introduced only in Chennai & Tamil Nadu circles, while other circle users have to wait a bit longer as there's no such plan.

Reliance Jio also has a Rs 1,999 tariff plan, but it offers benefits for only 180 days, so clearly, BSNL has the upper hand with this tariff plan. Jio is offering data benefit of 125GB without any daily FUP, 100 SMS per day and unlimited voice calls for 180 days. Jio also offers a free subscription to its apps and free JioTune service. Airtel used to offer a Rs 1,999 plan, but the telco is no more offering it at the moment.
