Just like every other telecom operator, Bharti Airtel also participated in the tariff hike exercise. The tariff hikes weren't only implemented on the prepaid plans, but also on the postpaid options. This is why, now the base postpaid plan from Airtel is slightly more expensive than it used to be. The base postpaid plan before the tariff hikes was the Rs 399 plan. But now it is the Rs 449 plan. This means a hike of Rs 50 only per month. This is not a very major hike, especially for a postpaid user. However, it will definitely help with boosting the postpaid ARPU (average revenue per user) figure for the Indian telecom industry which has been falling for a few quarters now.

Let's take a look at the Rs 449 postpaid plan from Bharti Airtel.

Bharti Airtel Rs 449 Postpaid Plan Benefits Explained

The Rs 449 postpaid plan from Bharti Airtel comes with unlimited voice calling, 40GB of data with 200GB rollover capacity, 100 SMS/day, and no other benefit except Airtel Xstream Play for 3 months at no extra cost. What's interesting here is that on the telco's website on the postpaid page, there's no mention of the 5G offer. In addition, there's no mention of the 5G offer in the terms and conditions as well.

However, since all the prepaid customers recharging with plans offering 2GB daily data and above are getting unlimited 5G, it is our assumption that Airtel postpaid users will also get it (regardless of the plan they choose to subscribe to). It would still be the correct thing to clear the doubt from the Airtel customer care team before you get a postpaid SIM from Airtel.

Note that there's an activation charge for the postpaid plan. Depending on the region you are in, it will be either Rs 250 or Rs 300.
