AIRCEL, India's leading GSM Mobile services provider, today said that it has achieved the 50 million customer mark. This landmark has catapulted Aircel into the club of top mobile operators in the world in terms of subscriber base.

Aircel is a full-fledged national mobile service operator with over 50 million GSM customers and more than 9% market share, adding approximately 1.8 million subscribers each month. Aircel has strong hold and also leader in 4 operating circles of Tamil Nadu, Chennai, Assam, North East and has 3G spectrum and broadband wireless access (BWA) in 13 out of India's 22 telecom circles.
