India's fifth largest mobile operator Aircel will hire Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) ground base Mobile towers Infrastructure to expand its GSM mobile service in Maharashtra telecom circle. Aircel is the new entrant in Maharashtra & Goa telecom Circle. The Company recently launches its GSM Mobile service in Maharashra & Goa Circle in the city of Pune.
Earlier another private operator and India's largest mobile service provider Bharti Airtel also approached BSNL with a proposal to share the BSNL Mobile tower infrastructure to enhance and expansion of its GSM network in Maharashta and Gujarat telecom circle.
According to the sources, BSNL will initially share its 100 ground base mobile towers with Aircel in the first phase of this deal.
Now a day the growth of telecom service operators in India would depend on the network strength of their rural coverage. Keeping this in mind, Aircel has been geared up to cover the rural area as well as the urban area.
Aircel, a part of Maxis Communications, Malaysia, is India’s fifth largest GSM mobile service provider with a subscriber base of over 22 million and is the fastest growing mobile operator in the country. Aircel recently launched its GSM Mobile Services in 8 circles this year in a short span of 4 months the first ever aggressive ramp up by a Telecom operator in the history of Indian Telecom a pan India operator, having presence in all the Metros, Aircel is targeting to touch 30million subscribers by the end of 2009.
