BSNL Subscribers Can Now Replace their SIM for Rs 50 Under New Promotional Offer

There is no other telecom operator which introduces changes across its portfolio as fast as Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) does. The state-led telecom operator can always be seen making some change or the other, and it’s mostly related to its prepaid plans, broadband plans or its other services. However, it’s been long since BSNL introduced a change to its SIM change prices. To recall, BSNL had made a bold move last year of hiking the prices for changing SIM for its subscribers, and as you would expect, the step wasn’t well-received by the subscribers. However, now the telecom operator has slashed the prices for availing this service, and to the surprise of users, it has cut the costs just by half, thus giving a 50% cut to the cost. Read more about this new change ahead.

New Price for BSNL SIM Replacement

To recall, last year, BSNL had hiked the SIM replacement cost from Rs 10 to Rs 100. This was a 10x hike which was not appreciated by the subscribers of BSNL. However, now BSNL has issued a notification informing that it is bringing down the SIM replacement cost for its subscribers down by 50% meaning that now to get a BSNL SIM replaced, the subscribers would only have to shell out Rs 50. It is also worth noting that this is a promotional offer from BSNL, which will be limited for a specific time only. Firstly, BSNL had issued the notification for Chennai circle, but now the telco has made the promotion live for all circles. As per BSNL, the Rs 50 SIM replacement cost would apply from August 1, 2019, to October 31, 2019.

BSNL Rationalises Abhinandan-151 Voucher

In another related development, BSNL has also made a change to its recently introduced Abhinandan-151 plan. The telecom operator was previously offering 1GB daily data as part of this voucher. But, under the new change, BSNL has upped the daily data limit to offer 50% more data, i.e. now the prepaid voucher comes with 1.5GB daily data. The validity of the freebies in this plan is 24 days, and along with 1.5GB daily data, the plan also offers free unlimited calling and 100 SMS per day as well.

It is worth noting that BSNL has been giving mixed signals lately to its subscribers. Some of the changes which BSNL introduced recently aren’t necessarily positive like the introduction of the daily calling cap of 250 minutes on some of its popular plans, or the reduction of grace period for balance lapse to 7 days down from previous 15 days. On the other hand, some other moves like the extension of the Bumper Offer which ships 2.2GB additional data per day till October 2019, have been appreciated by the BSNL subscribers.
