Lenovo-owned Motorola’s upcoming Z series smartphone - the Moto Z3 Play has popping up on the internet for quite some time now, but the release hasn’t happened so far. Reports now suggest Z3 Play may release early next month since its predecessor was made official in June 2017. Images of the Moto Z3 Play have once again made their way online, this time from the famous leakster Evan Blass. The press renders show a Deep Indigo colour edition of the Moto Z3 Play and reveals its design from all angles. The design is reminiscent of the previously launched Z2 Play device. On the front, the Z3 Play features a longer display that is surrounded with ultra-thin bezels. Previously an FCC listing revealed the device would sport a 6.1-inch display with a Full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9.
The render also shows the top bezel housing the selfie camera and the earpiece sitting in the centre of the bezel. The chin of the device lacks the oblong physical home screen button housing the fingerprint reader that was found on the Z2 Play. Instead, the bottom bezel is carved with the “Motorola” branding.
The left side of the Moto Z3 Play features the power key while the right side has the volume rocker keys along with a pill-shaped depression for the side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The top edge of the phone is seen with SIM/microSD card slot tray, and there’s a USB C port at the bottom. The device lacks the standard 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Z3 Play seems to be fitted with metallic frame and glass rear panel. The circular dual rear camera module is quite noticeable. The camera sensors are aligned horizontally inside this circular module along with dual LED flash placed below it. The dual camera system is expected to consist of a primary 12MP sensor paired with an 8MP secondary sensor.
Motorola’s batwing logo is also present slightly above the centre of the rear panel. There is also 16-pin connector at the bottom portion of the phone’s rear that will carry support for Moto Mods, one of the main features of Moto Z line.
Since the Z3 Play has already passed Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the U.S., the phone is expected to arrive soon. Under the hood, the phone packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC paired as high as 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The device is likely to be fueled by a 3000mAh battery.
