Two Variants of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Gets Certified

Samsung's already working on the Galaxy Note 9 smartphone and it's expected to arrive much earlier than expected. Today, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 with model numbers SM-N9608 and SM-N9600 have been certified by China Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The Galaxy Note 9 with model number SM-N9600 was certified last month, and the agency has today certified the SM-N9608, meaning both the variants will be launched in the Chinese market. However, the certification agency did not reveal the specifications or images of the smartphone. And Samsung is also silent about the launch date of the device. Rumours on the web suggest that Samsung is planning to launch the device way ahead of the usual Galaxy Note device launches. For example, Samsung launches a new Galaxy Note smartphone before the IFA tech show in Berlin, but it seems like the launch date of the Note 9 will be pushed a couple of months ahead.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 already paid a visit to Geekbench database, meaning the company has finalised the product too. The Note 9, as per the benchmark listing will run Android 8.1.0 out of the box, and it will be powered by Samsung's own Exynos 9810 SoC or Snapdragon 845 SoC. The smartphone will likely arrive with 6GB of RAM and not 8GB of RAM.

The variable aperture dual-camera technology from the S9+ will also make into the Galaxy Note 9, but the South Korean company will add some more tweaks to the camera to make it differentiate from the S9+. The rear camera could also offer the super slow-motion recording at 960fps, but Samsung should bump the video recording quality to at least 1080p from 720p it offered on the Galaxy S9 duo. It will, of course, come with Samsung S Pen support.

There are several speculations that the Galaxy Note 9 will have an in-display fingerprint scanner, but there isn't conclusive evidence supporting the same. Recently, a report stated that Samsung finalised the design of the Galaxy S10 and it could be the first Samsung smartphone to come with an in-display biometric sensor. The Galaxy Note 9 might miss the in-display fingerprint sensor bus because the technology is yet to go mainstream and Samsung surely will not take any risks with the Note 9, and the reason behind this is the poor sales of the Galaxy S9 duo.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 might be launched in June itself to cover up the poor Galaxy S9, S9+ sales.
