Lenovo has already confirmed that it will be launching the Lenovo S5 smartphone in China on March 20. And a couple of days earlier, Xiaomi has confirmed to unveil the Redmi Note 5 smartphone with Snapdragon 636 SoC in China on March 16. And today, Lenovo’s Vice President Chang Cheng saying that their upcoming S5 smartphone will give a run to the upcoming Note 5 smartphone in its homeland. Alongside this, Lenovo also released a couple of teaser image of the smartphone revealing the design of the smartphone.

Lenovo’s Vice President Chang Cheng took it to Weibo to make this declaration official. Like we said, these are very bold statements on Lenovo’s behalf although it is not clear how Lenovo plans to take over Xiaomi this time. Given that Xiaomi has put in a lot of effort on this phone and the hype of it seems to be justifying so. The phone comes packed with Snapdragon 636 SoC containing custom Kryo 260 cores

The rumour has it that the upcoming Lenovo phone will ship with ZUI. The ZUK sub-brand of Lenovo which they might be thinking of reviving this time. However, this fact doesn’t come as a big surprise since the present VP of Lenovo Cheng was previously the CEO of ZUK.

Speculators say that the phone must have passed certification tests since the date of the launch is not far ahead of the month and is barely ten days ahead. A look on the TENAA website tells us that the closely resembling the Lenovo K520 passed testing through the organisation. The only highlight that the VP shared with us was the mention of a 6,000mAh battery, which is by present standards pretty impressive.

The close relative of the above mentioned S5 the Lenovo K520 runs on an octa-core processor clocking speed at 2GHz. It also sports a 5.65-inch Full-HD+ display. The phone comes in two variants 3GB/4GB variants and 32GB/64GB internal storage. Also, it is interesting to note that the phone is going to be launched with Android Oreo 8.0 running out of the box.

It will be exciting to notice whether or not this phone will be able to beat the hugely awaited Redmi Note 5 like Lenovo promises. Also, whether the 6,000mAh battery becomes a game changer or not is also yet to be seen. We have our eyes out there to let you know about more updates on this tough competition. And the phone might make its way to the Indian market in Q2 2018.
