Samsung rolled out Android 8.0 Oreo Beta program for its flagship devices, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ in November. The company has since then released multiple beta updates with most recent being beta 4. With the latest update, the South Korean Electronics giant has expanded the Android 8.0 beta program to other countries including India, Germany, France, and Poland.

Though the update hasn’t gone official yet, Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ users in these countries have started receiving the update over past weekend. If you are a Galaxy S8 or S8+ owner in India and want to update your device, you can follow the instructions below:

How to get Android 8.0 Oreo Beta?

For starters, your device should be signed in using Samsung account. Then you need to register yourself for the beta program with Samsung Members app on the Galaxy S8 and S8+. Tap the “Register for Galaxy Beta Program” option under Notice section of app’s Home tab. Then tap the image promoting Galaxy beta, and after agreeing to terms and conditions, you get to enrol.

Following successful registration, you can update your S8, S8+ to Android Oreo. Head to Settings app and tap on Software Update option. Select the download updates manually. The update is sized 1.4GB as per reports. The Oreo beta update may not be available for all users immediately and instead is expected to roll out gradually.

The Android 8.0 Oreo update brings all features standard in the OS along with Samsung Experience 9.0 Upgrade. The new features include background limits to extend the battery life, autofill to make the sign-in process easier, notification dots shortcut to view unread notifications, picture-in-picture feature and more. In addition, there is also new emojis, improved keyboard navigation, LDAC codec for high-quality Bluetooth audio, among other things.

It is also important to note that the beta build is bound to have some bugs and as such there are likely to be some issues with some services or apps. Samsung, however, hasn’t revealed anything as to when the stable Android Oreo update rollout for Galaxy S8 and S8+.
