Early Samsung Galaxy S9 Renders Shows How the Upcoming Flagship Phone Will Look Like

Samsung Galaxy S9, the expected flagship smartphone from the South Korean giant today leaked out in a new render, which reveals the possible design of the smartphone. Well, it might be too early, but with Samsung said to be launching the Galaxy S9 lineup at the CES 2018 show in January, this leak might indeed be a real one.

Let’ speak about the render first. Firstly, the renders are obtained by BGR, and the publication claims that a case maker Ghostek created the renders. And the publication cites that they’ve verified these renders with other sources of them, and claim the renders as accurate. The case maker though created these renders based on the information obtained from the factory building the Samsung Galaxy S9.

As you can see, the Galaxy S9 looks similar to the Galaxy S8 from the front, although the case covers the better part of the front, the report says the phone will look like the Galaxy S8. That said, there will be some minor changes here and there though. Also, you can see a bunch of sensors on the top of the display, which reportedly houses the new facial recognition system Samsung is developing to compete with Apple iPhone X’s TrueDepth sensing technology.

At the back of the phone, there’s dual camera setup. Yes, the Galaxy S9 will come with two cameras at the back, and they will be vertically oriented. The only major flaw with the Galaxy S8 design is the fingerprint sensor placement, but going by these renders, Samsung is addressing this issue. The fingerprint scanner on the Galaxy S9 is placed below the vertically placed dual rear camera system, and it’s reachable with the index finger. Sadly, it is still the rectangularly shaped scanner, and not the circle shaped one seen on the smartphones such as the Google Pixel 2, OnePlus 5T, etc.
