HTC has released a mid-range smartphone HTC Desire 650 in Taiwan today. Priced at NT$ 5490 (approximately Rs. 11,820), the smartphone will go on sale in the country from December. HTC has not yet revealed a timeline for global rollout yet.
HTC Desire 650 features a 5-inch TFT LCD display of 1280 x 720 pixels resolution with Corning Glass protection. The smartphone is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor paired with 2GB RAM. There is an inbuilt memory of 16GB for the phone, which is expandable up to 2TB via a microSD card. Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with HTC Sense UI runs the phone. It sports a 13MP rear camera with LED flash, BSI sensor, f/2.2 aperture, 28 mm lens, and 1080p video recording. There is a 5MP in the front with f/2.8 aperture and 33.2mm lens. Both cameras have HDR mode and come with additional features such as self-timer, voice self, instant skin, and touch shooting.
Another highlight of the Desire 650 is its audio. It has HTC’s BoomSound audio and Hi-Res audio certification. In terms of connectivity, Desire 650 supports 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS / GLONASS, and NFC. A 2200mAh battery completes the package. The battery promises to deliver 17.5 hours of talk time and 5.5 hours of browsing on Wi-Fi.

In terms of design, HTC Desire 650 looks similar to Desire 630. The smartphone has a textured back panel, providing good grip. It has lines running horizontally on the back panel, offering a unique look. There are two color variants available to choose from. One is a midnight blue with the navy blue rim around the rear camera. The logo is also in navy blue. Another is a white variant, with the rear camera rim and logo in yellow color.
The HTC Desire 650 smartphone is currently listed on the official website. The global rollout of the smartphone is not known yet.
