Following Bharti Airtel and Idea Cellular, second largest operator Vodafone has finally launched its cheapest 3G/4G data pack in India which would offer data tariff as low as Rs 55/GB for a month to prepaid customers.

Although to get the low data rates customers have to recharge with an upfront fee of Rs 1501, but the company now ensures that every customer would get 15 GB of 3G/4G for that recharge value for a month, while the reduced data rate would be valid for next 12 months, offering a value for money solution for those who use data frequently on mobile.

If we compare the new pack with what market leader Airtel or third largest operator Idea Cellular offers, you can find that both operators are offering only 6 GB of data while Vodafone offering 250% more data with same upfront fee.

As Vodafone is currently charging Rs 1499 for 15 GB 3G/4G data for a month, if we compare then we can say there's no upfront fee at all and if customers recharge with the pack, they can easily cut down their data cost to Rs 55 per GB for 4G/3G data.

Details of Vodafone's Cheapest Data Pack Ever:

  • What You Pay: Rs 1501
  • You Get: 15 GB 4G/3G data for a month.
  • Additional Data tariff: Rs 55/GB (4G/3G)
  • How Long the Lower Data Rates Are Available After Recharging with The Pack: 12 Months.
  • Availability: Currently in few circles like Kolkata, Pan India roll out soon for prepaid customers.

However, the offer is now available in few markets like Kolkata to some of their prepaid customers, we have got to know from our sources that Vodafone would roll out the pack Pan India soon.

As this pack offers value for money and since Vodafone has decent data network in major markets, we expect more people would switch over to these kind of packs where data rates are much lower.

Note: Do cross check with Vodafone before opting the plan.
