As a Diwali bonanza, Vodafone India has introduced ‘One Rate. One South’ pack for Rs. 57, for all its prepaid customers across five states in South India. The pack facilitates all outgoing calls – local, STD and roaming – at 1 paise per second from anywhere in South India. There would be no roaming incoming charges regardless of the location of the customer - be it AP & Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka.

According to Vodafone Head Suresh Kumar, Operations Director – South, Vodafone India, the pack intends to serve the population that frequently travels between the states. “To avoid incurring roaming charges, most of them tend to use dual or multiple SIMs. Having closely studied these customer usage patterns, Vodafone has designed the ‘One rate, One South’ pack for the benefit of 35 million Vodafone prepaid customers across the five states, empowering them to use one number and remember only one calling rate, without worrying about any roaming rates,” he said.

“Our insights reveals that on an average 12 percent of 14 million pre-paid subscribers from Tamil Nadu tend to be on roaming on a regular basis and this figure rises significantly during festive periods. Vodafone’s ‘One Rate, One South’ pack has been designed to fulfill the existing need of our customers to have a worry-free, convenient option that enables them to stay connected with their world even while they are travelling or out of station for an extended period of time,” added S. Murali, Business Head – Tamil Nadu, Vodafone India.
