TERM Cell Punjab finds discrepancies in BSNL’s CAFs

Follow Us

The Telecom Enforcement, Resource and Monitoring (TERM) Cell Punjab has pointed out a slew of discrepancies in the Customer Acquisition Form (CAF) Audit for the months of May, June and July 2014 for BSNL. As a result of the same, the CAF Audit has failed the requisite pass percentage and the requisite authorities have been alerted to ensure that such mistakes do not take place again. Let us take a look at the discrepancies:

  • CAFs of people below 18 were found at the time of SIM activation which shouldn't be the case.
  • IMSI (International Mobile Subscriber Identity) numbers were not written in the CAFs. This number is provisioned to every SIM card.
  • Forged signatures where the names of applicants are different from the signatures on the CAFs.
  • Photostat of the backside of voter cards not submitted in CAFs.
  • Overwriting/Cutting on CAFs alongside usage of white fluids.
  • Photos pasted on proof of address and proof of identity.
  • Booklet of memorandum not attached in the mobile number working in the name of company/firm and with the authorization letter if the owner is himself.

These issues can be sorted out grassroot levels where retailers are helping the customers in filling up their application forms. The issue of CAF discrepancy starts with the retailers and gets aggravated when it goes to higher offices. So a checkpoint for verification at consequent stages can surely help save a lot of trouble.
