501 TransliteLava Mobiles has announced the availability of Jelly Bean upgrade pack for its popular 5'' Iris 501 smartphone. The smartphone was reviewed on Telecomtalk and considered to be one of the best value for money smartphone.

Launched with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, Iris 501 will be more powerful with this Jelly Bean upgrade.

Available for 7999 on flipkart, Iris 501 comes with 1 GHz dual core MediaTek processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal memory, dual SIM, 3G, Bluetooth, WiFi, 4GB microSD and special back cover free.

The update is available free of cost at any of Lava's service centers accross the country.

Earlier Indian handset makers were accused of launching smartphones with older operating system and not providing OS upgrade. But these days most smartphone from Indian manufacturers are launched with updated OS and even they are providing updates on the software side. But unlike well known manufacturers they are rolling out manual update i.e. you have to visit their service centers. I think this thing should be changed and should be given over internet.
