Tata Teleservices Adds 34 Lakh New Subscribers in August-Highest Ever
Tata Teleservices Limited, India’s fastest-growing pan-India dual-technology telecom service provider, emerged as the Number One telecom operator in the country in terms of new subscriber additions in a month, by adding more than 34 lakh new subscribers in August 2009.
The achievement is all the more noteworthy in that the nearest competitor in terms of new subscriber additions managed to add just over 28 lakh subscribers in the same period, a gap of 6 lakh subscribers.
Tata Teleservices Limited added on 3,418,138 new subscribers in August 2009 from its CDMA (Tata Indicom) and GSM operations (TATA DOCOMO) put together. In July 2009 too, TTSL had showed a healthy growth in new additions, with 2,247,002 new subscribers being added. While TTSL has shown a growth of 50 per cent or more in new subscriber additions in July and August 2009, other telecom operators have shown flat or negative growth in new additions in the same period.
“This is fantastic news for us and a validation of all the efforts thathave been put into making our network and services the best in the industry,” Mr Anil Sardana, Managing Director of Tata Teleservices Limited, said. “We thank each one of our new and existing subscribers for showering so much love, affection and trust in us. This has far exceeded our expectations and enthuses us to provide the best telecom experience to our customers—in keeping with our larger objective of achieving customer affection and delight,” he added.
Tata Teleservices recently launched its GSM services under the brand name TATA DOCOMO and has so far started commercial operations in eight Circles. “It has been just over two months that we launched TATA DOCOMO GSM services, and it will be a few months before we are a pan-India GSM operator. Against that backdrop, it is extremely gratifying to emerge as the top grosser in the industry in terms of new subscriber additions in August,” Mr Sardana added.

I don’t think 1sec bill make huge changes in Indian telecom field. Just see the poll result in the same site.
It makes a huge difference my friend in one second billing local call cost you 60p (whereas other operator charging you 1re. )and std too @60p in case of Docomo. Take example if a call last for less than mianute than we are saving some paise and in every call we end up disconnecting a call before a pulse (60 sec pulse ) so naturally we are saving at every call so it makes a difference and for poll result people say but they want the best.
@altaf
Yeah right it does make a difference.. for the small talkers whose calls generally last for 30-40 seconds.. specially the teenage groups whose main priority is sms-ing.
Mainly the same thing happens i think people screwed up with the poll all other should tell us what they think about per second pulse
Adding 34lakh subscriber is not a matter of joke.. People did like the per second billing plan.
Let’s see what is going to happen.
I have taken DoCoMo for one and only reason – Its from TATA group and the trust associated alongwith. I am fully satisfied with my decision. I would give it 10 out of 10 on its network coverage in Pune. Per second billing on Local STD and ISD is the secondary reason of my decision. First is the trust associated with the group.
