    today i went through all the comments & found that operators with 1800mhz frequency seems to be a poor service provider in tat circle eg ppl say Airtel as worst operator in kerala gujarat & maharastra where it operates in 1800mhz & ppl from karnataka,wb etc say as best operater where it operates under 900mhz. vodafone is best in GJ 900mhz but has signal probs in Karnataka1800mhz..so one thing is sure tat an operator wit 900mhz will many hearts than an operator wit 1800mhz. new operators like docomo has signal probs.
    the main advantage of 900mhz is it can accomodate more customers than 1800mhz. so u wont get network busy beep.

    @Sunil
    Everything expect your last line is correct.. 900MHz advantage is good penetration of RF waves comparing 1800MHz.. So in-building coverage of 900MHz will be much much better than 1800MHz waves…

    iactly this line was told by mr sanjeev aga CEO of IDEA cellular when idea acquired spice. he said since spice has got 900mhz band its very useful for them cos in 900mhz more no customers can be accomodated with lesser base stations & also penetration is quite good
