If MNP Arrives Which Operator Will You Board?

If MNP Arrives Which Operator Will You BoardFrom 2G Life to 3G Life and soon to Mobile Number Portability.

Indian telecom market is experiencing a new revolutionary wave as telecom operators are gearing up for the launch of 3G Services and with count down for MNP begins its evident that Market share will be re shuffled.

By now many of them might have made their minds to switch to your favorite mobile operator.

So what will be your preferred new operator when Mobile Number Portability (MNP) arrives, why you will switch network and also most importantly don’t forget to mention the telecom circle you belong to while commenting.

Hoping that Mobile operators too will read your feed back and will definitely do a bit to retain you as their customer by considering your feedback!, the least we can expect! :)

My kind request dont choose for vodafone once mnp is implemented because u cant change ur operator for a duration of 3 months and i am sure from the 1st day of activation in case if u choose vodafone u want to come out from them due to following reasons.
    1. Poor or worst network coverage.
    2. No offers most expensive Tariff.
    3. They cheats a lot.
    4. Poor customer care.
    5. No information on the websites.

open your eyes and live in present and yep i guess you had a bad dream… Wake up yaar… Yes they don’t offer cheap tariff but they never compromised with their network… Vodafone rocks… But it is your will that you dont want to stay with them… You are not forced by vodafone to use their service so why the hell are you forcing others to leave them… Gosh people are crazy…dumbhead

Dear SRI, let me tell u an example of private people. My SONY TV went faulty on 05-11-2010, while most hopefully my little kids have created the trpouble by repeatedly pressing manual power button. I called up Sony customer care at Shimla on the next day, who took my number, my address and all. And told me that engineer will turn up to my place on 08-11-2010. But despite my repeated telephonic requests, no one has till date turned up at my place. My old age parents dwell at the village where the TV is lying. Today after talking to a senior customer care executive, and promising him that I will take their engineeer in my own car and drop him back at Shimla, the engineer was ready to leave to my village tomorrow i.e. on 17-11-2010. This is the state of affairs in pvt sector too. No doubt, Sony is also best in the world till the time their equipment runs smooth. I love SONY , but see the post fault services. You have to wait a bit dear, everywhere.

    @PradeepHetta
Service is too bad with any one here Branded or un-Branded, So, I learned a lesson from these guys,
1.if i get any problem and it can be carried with me and if it is in warranty period, i will take it to their nearby service center other wise i will take to a near by third party servicing and get it done and will return back to home.
    2. If we cant carry it, then we have to pickup that guy and work done and drop him back. We simply cant live waiting for them, just they kill our time, phone calls and patience.

    3. Stop buying branded and buying our great china items at 1/4th of branded price use it as long it works and throw it if cant be repaired by local service person.

Agreed, Billing very clear and accurate but only the problem is when you got a problem with your BB line and phone line, you must have a patience of atleast 5 working days and you must have patience to call them ( dont know when the pick the phone) , roam around their exchanges and customer care service centers. As long as you dont get problem, BSNL is the best of the best.

    4. And lastly State of the Art Network & Good Coverage too matches others in the industry.
    5. Affordable pay per usage Value Added Services includes GPRS Packs as low as 48/month With 2GB Download limit.

How come you different on TATADOCOMO here, may you are lucky guy for them and When your GPRS wont work, how do you chat and when your si wont work how do you talk with them. Practically you are satisfied with their service and signals…tariff, it is great to hear that. I dont believe in theoretical about these operators.

Private people, incase of grievance, will take your phone number from you and ask you that they will call you. But their call never comes to you. You have to run after them and people are not found easily. But in sarkari companies at least people are found to attend your grievances and you feel satisfied. whereas, you feel cheated in pvt. cos.

  • Pradeep November 15, 2010 at 3:17 pm

All private operartors are centralizing money into private hands ( i.e. a few hands). Whereas, if my money goes to BSNL, a national company, it will be distributed among each and every Indian. Private people talk of better service, that also I have seen. Private people, after selling their product, rarely and very diplomatically entertain their customers. So why not opt for Sarkari Company.

    5) If we choose private operator it will help to grow Ambani or Sunil mittal while in BSNL it will help to improve our nation.

i will switch from vodafone to any other operator. i just want to get rid off from the worst company called vodafone. except for network everything about the company is worst – fineprints in everything, no ethics, cheating billing, arrogant management, 3rd class customer care, costly tariffs, no full fledged gprs in spite of repeated requests etc

there are published news/media reports that vodafone with its partners airtel and idea are trying to delay mnp beyond 25 nov 2010 to jan 2011 and then to april 2011. they have done under table dealing for the same.

@ABHI You use a phone which is having Less SAR value & pls avoid chinese phones like micromax, lava, karbonn videocon etc as their radiation level is very high. & U wont get headache operator wise infact it depends upon how far the tower is..
Nearer the tower lesser will be the radiation emitted from your phone to access its signals & farer is the tower greater will be the radiation emission. so make sure tat u have full signal strength while speaking.
If u want more then its advisable to use bluetooth headset as their SAR value is 0.1w/kg which is very very low.

rohan :In india Airtel & Vodafone has less congestion than other operators. Reason- expensive call, sms charge. So people likes to receive calls and sms becoz they can not afford to make a expensive call/sms. And they claim ‘our netwk is less congested’ . People use Docomo, Bsnl, uninor, videocon to make call/sms. This is why they are congested.

Well said… as per my observation my friends Vodafone & Airtel Subscribers only gives missed calls to me (MTNL Trump) & i always call them without veerifing my balance because i know that MTNL system is honest compare to any other private operator but same time when they give me missed call they always cross check the balance after the missed calls they know that both operators are always ready to deduct the money whenever subscribers found calling. Ha ha ha …….

Why this frustrated man is against TATA? TATAs honesty and their service is unquestionable. A person against this country’s system is posting his comments here. Everyone knows the contribution of TATAs to this country. What has given this person to this country? Tata Indicom bagged many prizes for their excellent services. Are they idiot who give them prizes? It seems this person is hired by Airtel. their tout.

hi, its not frustration, it is a expectation from TATA as we are witness to this revolution in mobile phone industry in india, it is because of reliance cdma and tata docomo only. reliance cdma supplies mobile phones in india @500 rs at that time and tata docomo launches its per second plan now every operator having per second plan. so we have lots of and more expectation from thease companies.

Thank You MAX. Yes it is not “Frustration”, Expectation is the right word. The pain blows out when an expectation turns down.

I also agree that TATA is only Best Service provider in India They are real honest service provider if you compare plans of tata indicom with all other operator you will find they how they are best not just that but customer care experience with tata is also good and tata indicom is true Indian company with principals, not like reliance every one know about it how they cut balance and etc. and tata docomo have make new tradition of per second plans where all operators are looting people with per minute plans I remember that tata indicom has launched same per second plans before 5-6 years ago, lots of private operator had start charging for calling to customer care while in tata indicom you they are busy they call you back, and I am not paid by tata to post this blog so it is my and lots of my friend’s personal view we all are using tata indicom / tata docomo since last many years and happy with its service. BEST OF LUCK TATA DOCOMO YOUR 3G WILL ROCK.

People use Docomo, Bsnl, uninor, videocon to make call/sms. This is why they are congested.

Instead of waiting for MNP, let us spend few bucks on SMS packs which are cheap now and take a new number and send SMS to all your phone book a few times ( some are lazy to check SMS too) and use both sims for few days and close your old sim.
any ways using 2 SIMS is better than using 1 SIM because no one knows when one SIM will stop functioning due to server errors which can happen to any operator
also dual sim phones without dual call waiting function is of no use
    better use 2 seperate phones

I hav total 12 MTNL Mumbai Trump connections & I am really very happy with their 2G & 3G network services, Also better services for roaming in Maharashtra & Goa with BSNL.
As info received from MTNL Top Management they are radiating new sites every weekly, where they are facing heavy traffic & poor indoor network signal, they tie up with WTTIL for new 2G & 3G cell sites & all the sites would be completed in 2months. Work is going on in full swing in entire Mumbai so that their network congestion & 3g & 2g signal would be improved. Last week they radiated new cell site @ Ghatkopar where they have poor network with congestion, now they radiated the site in a 15days. Now in this area network is very strong with superior voice & video clarity in 3G video call. Thanks MTNL Mumbai team for doing the best job.

But When MTNL Mumbai is going to remove roaming charges while in BSNL Maharashtra circle.. Now only BSNL Maharashtra & MTNL Mumbai Mobile & Landline are at 1ps/sec while we are roaming in Maharashtra BSNL circle but other private operator calls are Rs.1.50/min while in MAHARSHTRA BSNL.. So why just half roaming removed by MTNL Mumbai??
But BSNL Maharashtra gives BSNL & MTNL as well as private operators calling at 1ps/sec or 0.49ps/min while in MTNL Mumbai network..

So i m happy with BSNL gsm services, better coverage with 3G services @ affordable rates, no cheating, no unwanted sms or calls really its a great operator for us. In every corner of Goa state he have good signal strength. Thanks to BSNL team who are really trying their level best. Hats off. Keep up the good work.

and if rcom gives affordable 3G tariff which is more or less equal to current 2G tariff, i might consider rcom also.

    choice by preference:
    1. tata docomo (if both airtel and rcom don’t come with affordable 3G tariff)

I Would Switch From Reliance GSM to Vodafone or Airtel primarily for SMS pack(22,500 sms per month with airtel, vodafone compared to 15000 per month in reliance)as RELIANCE Network is that bad when it comes to msg delivery- It gets delivered either too late or gets delivered even 100 times the same msg. This is happening for almost a year now. Also Reliance has also started charging on Festive days.
GPRS too Not Worth using in Reliance-No Proper coverage,No Proper Support from customer care, they dont seem to have enough knowledge in helping customers when there is a technical issue.Recent issue i had was with caller tune, which was a big mess! I didnt want to revisit it again.
So Poor Coverage,Worse Customer Support,No Competitive SMS plans are the reasons for switching out of Reliance GSM.
Also Am Using Uninor For a Month Now with 198rp monthly topup plan, which is very useful and affordable for local calls.Coverage is Comparitively Better ,Hoping it gets better in coming days. Also 6GB per month at 90rp for gprs is also good.Am Using uninor for GPRS and Local calls.
Also am a BSNL 3G Mobile user For Data usage and Video calls which is very cheap ! Worst Part is the Customer Service- It is the Worst in INDIA- last night when i called customer care for an enquiry,i was told that system not working, asked to call back in day time- they say the same every night- i can hear songs playin in background, moreover the agent was rude and was completely not professional. They are not ready to help customers and also Hang up on ur face while u r on the call.

I will change from airtel to aircel becoz, signal strength is very low for last 4 years. All are complaint to airtel but there is no response. But Aircel is good in rural area. Without signal no use of any tariff. Gprs speed is 2kbps… for airtel.
I recommend to all people for this scheme….. The MNP is the punishment for all operators….

This kind of expected feedback is hypothetical ! No single operator is perfect ! Also majority of subscribers have more than one sim and in many case (for e.g. I have sims of most of the operators) multi sims and use dual phones. Therefore the change over will depend on circle-centric performance mainly network. The brutal effects will be in areas in an around metros ! Tatadocomo and Reliance gms will have burn midnight oil keep even 2g life goind (read tata docomo). ONE THING IS SURE RATS WILL LEAVE A SINKING SHIP !!

3>GPRS SPEED & TARIF IS GOOD (RS.48/2GB-30 DAYS)
    BUT THE PROBLEM I FACED………..
1>POOR SIGNAL STRENGTH IN MANY AREA
2>NO COVERAGE AREA (IN KOLKATA & SARAOUNDING AREA ALSO)
3>INNER SIGNAL STRENGTH IN THE ROOM IS LOW/ZERO
4>AUTOMATICALLY SWITCHED TO VODAFONE EVEN WHERE DOCOMO IS PRESENT IN KOLATA AREA ALSO

thirdly regarding the tariffs when mobile service started call rates wher too high even charged for incomming calls too we users expected to get the tariffs lesser lesser lesser lesser now no one expected its have come dowm so cheaper 1000 of free sms and unlimited calls b/w same network 1p/sec to others but we users want still cheaper so me one person who starts his career from five figure salary and seeks lesser in future

I would go for Airtel after MNP. Currently I am using Idea Postpaid. There is no good GPRS plans for postpaid customers in Delhi. Airtel Postpaid is offering 2 GB Data download @ 98 for its postpaid & prepaid customers but idea offers this plan for Prepaid customer only. Initially Idea was providing best VAS tariff but currently no more good VAS tariff is there in Idea. Indoor Coverage of Idea Network is also not good. Moreover, Airtel has also got 3G license for Delhi Circle, so its better to move to Airtel.

I have been using Airtel since last over 8 years. To be truthful I have never encountered any Network Problem with Airtel within the home location or during roaming in to deepest interiors of Himachal Pradesh. I salute to Airtel for erecting such a robust and flawless Network across the nation. However, the market scenario is changing rapidly, the sentiments and loyalty of customers is also changing and over all these the MNP is coming. Throughout my experience of using Mobile Phone I am not able to recall the person who would have made a complaint with regards to the Network Problem with Airtel. But there were a number of people who expressed their concern towards the tariffs offered by Airtel which are always at a higher side. Airtel should be thankful to Vodafone (in Delhi Circle) for pushing them at No. 2 position with respect to the economical tariffs. My honest suggestion to Airtel is to look at the tariffs they and others are offering to the customers, compare them and come out with the best economical tariff plans. After all it is economy that attracts to the customers first (Network comes at second position) and keeps them loyal towards the most economical operator. Airtel must not forget the availability of Dual SIM Phones (now being sold by the Global Mobile Players) which is giving customers an option to retain old number (may be of Airtel) and use the economical plans (as compared to Airtel) of other operators. Now coming in is MNP which would allow customer to go a step further and retain the same number with change over of the telecom operator. Airtel’s think tank to revisit their marketing strategy and introduce much much economical tariff plans. No doubt this would enable Airtel to stay at No. 1 position for much longer time. All the best to Airtel!!!

Definitely We all 3G Loving Kolkata people will move to BSNL only for the tariff, as no one can match with BSNL its the cheapest one at least in 3G segment. All other operators will try or match with TATA Domcomo tariff.

On the 2nd thought its only BSNL and MTNL who has got Pan India coverage.

We all have to sacrifice with the quality of the service as we all know BSNL is a sort of BABU’s Company but for greater benefits has to sacrifice little, after all its money which does matter.

Funny part is this till date 11112010 no other operator has even trying to test their 3G implementation in Kolkata non other than Cellone in UMTS or WCDMA mode is found in the network of the Mobile.

We all are eagerly waiting for MNP to launch, but this is India anything can happen in the 11th hour.

What is the purpose of a 98 gprs pack with 2 gb when i can only use 68mb daily only. their deault gprs rates of 2p/kb=(2048rs/mb)=20lakh/gb thats only for a pathetic 200kbps edge speed.

On the top of it their is no way of checking gprs usage like what reliance provides. Completely dependent on regular check on phone’s gprs tracker.

Looking ahead for reliance 3g launch as i m getting almost 230-250kbps edge speed on pc using phone as modem in my area.

Raised several complaints but there is no proper response from Airtel every time they say once there network is upgraded the problem will be solved, asked for temporary solution like fixing booster on my home terrace but they rejected that too. On an average I am shelling out more than 5000 rupees every month on these connections. I can’t change these numbers since its corporate connection, I will certainly move to BSNL once MNP comes live in Chennai. I have BSNL 3G prepaid SIM and post-paid datacard…They have very good coverage in Chennai and also in TN (wherever I have tested).

    According to my view;
Today, It is time to use atleast TWO GSM-SIM with DUAL sim handset because no one operator consumer friendly.
Best combination of SIMs & Handset may be BSNL(1p/sec or 49p/min)+DoCoMo(1p/sec)+Spice 4580 dual sim set
    Specially in rajasthan
    NOTE: never use R-GSM

I will change my Mumbai MTNL number to Videocon as it has many recharge option & Schemes and many types tariff plans one of which is in Rs.17 RCV all local & std calls at just 0.25ps/min for month..

I will also change my Maharashtra circle Idea number to BSNL 3G as Idea is very costly operator & has less schemes here and also roaming rates are very high of Idea and Idea GPRS plans does not work from roaming in Maharashtra circle and with BSNL 3G I can enjoy fast 3G internet and video call facility from anywhere in India with less roaming charges like just 0.49ps/min for voice call & Rs.1/min video call & Rs.0.01/10Kb internet charges & also all Data plans applicable from Home As well is Roaming even from Pan India roaming…

    A-A = 30P
    A-O = 50P
    A-L = 60P
    STD = 90P

Im using uninor as my primary number from past 7months,Im very much satisfied with their tariff & network quality( clarity, zero call drop, zero congested) but very much dissatisfied with their coverage.inspite of complaining for more than 20times in 6 months their is not even a single % of improvement in coverage. so im going to switch to either Airtel or Aircel as aircel is improving its coverage very rapidly & has got cheaper plans compared to Airtel

    Prem From Chennai Here.

They are not ready to help customers and also Hang up on ur face while u r on the call.

    hence according to me ,
    In Chennai and Tamilnadu –
Airtel is good for Network in most areas in City sides andFor SMS Packs,

BSNL 3G for Video calls , Data usage

    and

    Uninor for Local Calls.

    Monthly -
Uninor – 198rp for free local calls
    Airtel – 60Rp/month for sms
    BSNL 3G- 250Rp/month for data,video calls !
    Total – 500 rp Approx!

For Std calls,i use any of these at times! I USE three Nokia Phones.

    Thats my usage Pattern!

    Happy Talking to all!

May be in coming days i may have to go for another backup too.I always maintain backup becoz I am in INDIA where the services will be sold to public without strict consumer laws. As soon as MNP is launched (hopefully by 2012?), I’d be more than happy to ditch Idea and move to Aircel, in Tamil Nadu. Idea TN is the most boring operator I’ve ever come across with no new packs from their side for the last 8 months. Signal strength is very weak and poor customer support from their side.

With Aircel’s revolutionary pioneer 98Rs UL GPRS plan, I’m sure Aircel will provide breathtaking 3G plans which would be affordable. Also, Aircel’s signal coverage across TN is amazing and provides just what I need.
