India’s leading GSM mobile Service operator Idea Cellular has launched new GPRS Pack at Rs.98 for its prepaid mobile service users in Kolkata and West Bengal telecom circles.
Idea Cellular’s Prepaid subscribers in Kolkata and WB circles can opt this service by paying Rs.98 per month (E -Recharge with Rs 98).The GPRS packs will works on Mobile Phone as well as browsing through PC or Laptop.
The GPRS Pack of Rs.98 will provide Internet browsing and Downloads up to 3GB with 100 MB daily usage capping (Data Transfer) per day free for 30 days from the date of recharges.Post free usage 2 paisa per KB will be charged for data usage.

@all- use idea gprs with idea_internet settings which has its access point “internet”.
on pc just type internet as access point in ur nokia pc suite/samsung pc studio,etc..

BSNL is also having a similar plan of Rs.98 for 2GB after which they charge 1 paisa per kb (i.e. Re.1 per MB)

idea has gprs wap plan for wap unlimited. But they blocked socket connection in which i can’t even get push mails even from nokia messaging. Nor nimbuzz works here .. Its hell here:-) shit i hate idea…

@ proxy nice observation but the problem with airtel is that it is providing 2gb for 30 days so you need to check your usage everyday.Idea is offering 100mb/day;if you’re not a mass downloader(with this type connection,the job is very painfull!lol) then in my opinion,its a very good offer.

if u compare with airtel then airtel is better cause if someday u cross ur daily limit of 100 mb then it will be Rs.20.48 per mb {2 paise per kb}

Idea has completed there 1st phase in W.B. and they r now doing second phase……..Huawei is doing this project. within 1 year they completed the whole W.B. coverage…….

I think this is not a bad offer. Airtel is giving 2GB where Idea 3GB in 98/-. 100mb/day is sufficient for surfing net 6-8 hours. For a working man & a student, it is just that plan which they need (1-2 hour surfing+ some download). Don’t wish to get unlimited in 98/-. If you have to download much data, then don,t choose 2G internet. I don,t know about other circles but in Bihar, idea is the best in 2G EDGE speed. It would be better if they do not restrict 100mb/day.

Idea is still not launched in many parts of WB including Kharagpur.But it doesnt matter since no one is going to take its sim anyway!!

Its Better than Delhi/NCR IDEA 98 plan.
because in Delhi GPRS Pack of Rs.98. They provides Internet browsing and Downloads up to 2GB with 68 MB daily usage.
I think IDEA should work on it…

If idea not able to give gprs offer, why they are giving such waste offer,, but i would say wb people are atleast getting such, otherwise no single gprs offers in gujarat where it is one of market leaders..!

Tata Docomo came in Kolkata/WB in the same time when Idea came.
And it si giving far bettet plans.
Even Rs95 GPRS pack of Tata Docomo gives 6 GB and 1p/10 kb(20 times less) post free usage.
