BSNL to Revise Monthly Charges for ‘General’ Urban and ‘One India’ Landline Customers

BSNL customers will have to pay more as Fixed Monthly Charges (FMC or rent) starting 01 March 2014 for two landline plans PAN India. The plans are once famous 'One India' Plan and General Plan. The change in general plan FMC would impact customers whose connections come under exchanges with capacity >= 30000 lines. Customers will have to pay Rs. 15 more per month.

In several parts of India, particularly in Urban areas, people maintain a BSNL landline connection for broadband usage and the FMC structure is different in those cases. Hence, these changes would possibly impact a smaller subset of customers.
