India’s National telecom Backbone and GSM service provider Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) once again rationalize its SMS tariff with the launch of 5 new SMS Packs for its 2G and 3G GSM subscribers.
BSNL has withdrawn existing SMS Pack of Rs. 13, Rs.20, Rs.31 and Rs.52 and introduces new BSNL SMS Packs priced Rs 12, Rs 24, Rs 31 and Rs 52 which have been designed with different validity and increased tariff from the existing packs due to new SMS termination charges between all services providers.
All new SMS Packs are pan India applicable and will offer BSNL to BSNL Local and National SMS at 0.05 paisa (1/2 Paisa – Half Paisa per SMS) and SMS on any other Local and National networks at 10paisa. While SMS packs of Rs.83 will offer SMS on any other local and national networks at 7 paisa and BSNL to BSNL SMS will be remain same as 0.05 paisa ( (1/2 Paisa – Half Paisa per SMS).
These SMS tariffs will be applicable till first 100 SMS per day and subscribers will be charged at 50 paisa per SMS or base tariff whichever is higher beyond 100 SMS per day as per latest TRAI regulation.

The implementation of the revised tariff has been made in accordance with 43rd Amendment of Telecom Tariff Order issued by TRAI.
Note :
- The MRP of the SMS STVs is flexible of Rs 3 (+/-) of above price, depending upon local market condition and technical feasibilities available from circle to circle.
- All plans are for both 2G and 3G prepaid users of BSNL.

Well, the network is very good out here in northeast India, but the sms packs tariffs are just ridicuolous! Please do something, unlike other network providers BSNL should introduce an sms pack with sms balance with a validity of a weeks,months etc. Instead of deducting 10 p , 7 p so on…! Please look upon this matter and do something, it would be of great help!.

day before ysterday i have put bsnl 36rs booster….bt if i txt to other n/w am loosing 0.12p per msg……even the recharge dealer don’ know about the changes in tarrif of bsnl…since they are changing their tarrif every month….really the sms booster pack introduced newly is very worst….please change the sms pack rates….after putting msg bster also we are loosing amt if we txt…then what is the use of putting sms pack…consider our feedback & take positive actions.

i belv it was my.worst decision to port to this stupid network. i had better coverage, better net and a lot better offers n service in any other network i used including docomo (response toooooooook slow for 2g, also cant connect any apps like whatsapp,nimbuzz. nvr keeps any cnxn alive when in 3g mode also). also when thethered most sites get stuck showing “waiting for ******” i had enough with bsnl. please friends dont.ever choose.this network if you use 2g/3g data packs. and never expect any customer service.nor range. i thought bsnl has the best range here. m not even getting a single bar most times. ya i have till i connect to net. it goes down to 0 :/ :@ ..

I Hate BSNL Due To Lack of Call Connectivity. Internet Connectivity is Not Available Most of The Times. Especially When I Use Other Operators Sim Cards, They Provide Better Efficiency Whereas BSNL Needs Some Sorts of Confirmation SMS To Get GPRS Services. Whereas in Other Operators For Example Aircel – I Hate Aircel Because of Poor Coverage But Coming to The Part of Internet, Aircel Immediately Provides Internet Connection as soon as I Inserted This Company Sim Card on My Mobile

Dear All,
Currently there is only 2 SMS pack is available in Kerala Circle. Rs 12 with 2 days validity and Rs 68 ( 10 paisa/sms + Rs 20 talk value) with 30 days validity. Same has been confirmed with customer care. BSNL has not yet released any SMS packs in kerala circle and blocked all previous SMS packs.

Its now too costley for SMS, I use to maintain the BSNL connection only because of this sms pack, now they has changed and its too expensive now. But the same time other operators are providing better sms offers. And the sad part is if we call customer care, first of all it take more than 30 min to connect the customer care, once they pick then conufusion begins. They dont knw have any update on plan, second thing iif we ask complaint or higher officer contact they will not provide, there is no nodel desk escalation…and the funniest part is if we ask so many clarification they will say “sir we would like to transfer your call to our supervisor” and they will not lister what we are trying say and again we need to wait in line another 30 min to speak the supervisor. And again we need to tell all the our complaint story.
I fed up with BSNL its like hell now…Thinking to port out some other telecom.,..and will not suggest any bsnl to anyone…

What is the use of keeping BSNL SIM with us.
No life time validity (all other networks providing).
No free SMS with recharge (all other networks providing).
Call charges & SMS charges are highest in the industry.
BSNL is for BSNL staff only. Not for the public. Its not our liability to feed your officers.

Why BSNL has not given this news in Mainstream media and Newspapers as its applicable for whole of India? Why retailers are not told about changed tariffs so that they would not have done recharges with old plans which have created arguments with customers. This is poor planning and implementation.
Also even if 10 Paise per SMS is not that bad, why we have to recharge Rs.31 with 30 days validity for it. BSNL should reduce Normal SMS rates from 50Paise to 10Paise without any STV Recharges required to be done, so that People will make more use of it, even if daily limit is 100 SMS’es.

In Kerala for STV 53 SMS pack – we got 3000 sms for 1 month.
Now with new STV 52, 2 month validity (so Rs 26/month rent itself). Assume we spent Rs 52 per month for sms. So 52-26=Rs 26 WORTH sms we can send after the Rs 26 which is gone as per month rent. That is 260(10p per sms ) sms only before it was 3000. Bsnl is playing very cheap business trick. We customers are very aware of it.

Why waste?, along with this pack BSNL providing Rs.20 Talk time in account, also you can call fixed/landline calls in Tamilnadu@30p/min, but your Airtel, Aircel, Vodafone, idea, DoCOMo, Reliance is not being provided this facility in TN.
Here the problem is tariff and plans visibility in BSNL network that is the fact!
Best and another option: Local calling (mob/Fixed/landline) at 0.5p/sec for 30 days.

1: bsnl always changing call traiff , plans,also cost is high,no proper customer care service , ect, i was very interest to use bsnl because i am bsnl reatailer but i can’t able to use.

From yesterday evening i can’t connect my BSNL 3G USIM in 3G mode as i recharged my number with Rs.98 i.e. a 2G Data Plan. My BSNL Sim got registered in 3G mode showing Full Signal Strength but unable to connect. But when i tried to connect in EDGE Mode its get connected. I am from Burdwan West Bengal Area. Now my question whether BSNL now restricting its user to access in 3G mode if they recharge 2G packs? Anyone facing the same problem in West bengal?

Not only in BSNL, All networks has prepared to charge – Off-net SMS: 10p/SMS in few hours / few days, no one escape from this, you can go any network in India by MNP, but you will charged off-net SMS: 10p/SMS.
Why no one blames Airtel and Vodafone, they are changing the SMS game in telecom industry by demanding 10p/SMS from other network. Till now Aircel, BSNL, DoCOMo, Reliance has ready to give Free SMS but that Airtel, Idea and Vodafone won’t accept. These cartels are demanding 10p/SMS as SMS termination charges! So everyone should blame only Airtel, Idea, Vodafone not any other network.
In Chenai & RoTN BSNL’s smart move:
That’s why Chennai & RoTN BSNL has understand the bad situation; on last 20-12-2012 Chennai & ROTN BSNL has been withdrawn all its flagship sms packs like SMS14: L/N SMS@5p for 30 days, SMS21:1500 local SMS (15 days), SMS36:3000 L/N SMS, SMS56: 6000 L/N SMS (60 days), but except RC: 46 / SMS46:4500 L/N SMS (45 days), which pack (SMS46) only available in market.
I have heard the this SMS46 pack will also removed after launch the above mentioned SMS packs, so if you really smart just Do RC46 now and at least enjoy 4500 FREE Local/National /Roaming SMS for next 45 days. This pack is the last option for BSNL Mobile Customers in Tamil nadu.

Dont blame BSNL. What TRAI doing on sms termination fee? Nothing. Why TRAI not ready to reduce sms termination charges? Because with the help of KAPIL SIBAL, nowadays TRAI giving its full support to AIRTEL. So we cant expect any low tariff still ‘corrupt kapil sibal and cong govt’ is there. Its time to look back our former minister RAJA. With the help of RAJA only today we are enjoying per second pulse and 30p cal rate. Kabil sibal waste fellow. Who want national level number portability? We want free national roaming. But they are going to implement nation wide portability. Who want this? Waste fellows and waste minister.

I do not why this TRAI is implementing such orders by increasing the SMS Termination Charges.
TRAI is for increasing the customer base in India or increasing the rates as they want and reduce the customers This is quite bad. Some has to complain on this to Supreme Court on the high termination SMS Charges like everyone complained when it become 100 sms/day.

I use Reliance Pre paid GSM .50p/min local ,std,roaming all the same. no stv recharge neccessary .I use outgoing calls all over India with out feeling roaming effect(except incoming call charged @ 50p/min on roaming when Iam outside AP)
I do use Rs 14/month sms pack. (auto debit everymonth !)all local & national sms @ 5 paise . My sms usage is not much may be monthly 100-150 only.

I recently recharged with SMS Pack 53 in MP. Validity 60 days. BSNL to BSNL 0.5 paise/SMS. When you will send 2 messages to bsnl numbers then 1 paisa will be deducted from your balance. I have personally used it so no confusion at all.

Dear Telecom talk readers, now its time to think again on these high profit making companies like BSNL, IDEA, AIRTEL, VODAFONE and RELIANCE. These are the companies have high market share, but these are the companies hiking their tarrif as well as sms rates and also those are charging for voice calls in special festival days(they called these days as ‘blackout day’).
Now friends we should support those telecom players who provide voice and sms/internet tarrifs at low rates. These operators are TATA DOCOMO, AIRCEL, MTS, VIDEOCON and UNINOR. These operators are facing lots of problems to survive this industry but still providing good cheap tarrif service to their customers. So friends lets support and save these operators from telecom industry.

Rs.13/- validity is 2 days & sms charge 0.05p/sms & also get Rs.5/-usage & Rs.68/-validity is 30 days & sms charges .10p/sms & also get Rs.20/-usage.

0.05 P. is Not a half paisa. That is Five paisa. half paisa means, 1 paisa’s Half part. See the tariff method, Off net sms 10p. mean time, on net sms charge is 5 paisa.. so simple.

As a mobile customers we need to break these cartel’s (Airtel, Vodafone & Idea) market share!
Then only customers will get affordable cost (reasonable cost) for mobile communications.
Until no other way to go; you accept it or not you will be charged directly or indirectly by these cartels (monopoly) for mobile communications, how is it?
if BSNL’s services, visibility is better or not; BSNL is always best(overall) for middle income peoples.
BSNL is the one and only transparent telecom network operator in India.

5p/sms means, for 3000 msg U have to pay (0.05*3000)=Rs. 150.

Frndz. . . . . . Rcom. Is best . In punjab they give 5p/sms local offnet and on net 3GB DATA all local r. To r. 5p/min and local rcom 2 other just 30p/min in RUPEES 73 . Cool

Reliance gsm stv 74 is far better than these plans of bsnl in Rajasthan.
Stv 74 with 180 days validity.
1. All sms 10p
2. Onnet call 10p and offneu 25p
3.std 50p
4. 1gb 2g data/mth for 6 mth
5. Full talktime on every top up.

If it is true. then on one is going to use SMS on BSNL.
Reliance giving me at 0.005 INR (local sms) and 0.003 INR (STD sms) on 19 rupees plan. Just awesome.

FRIENDS I THINK TT HAS WRITTEN WRONG its not 5 paisa its 0.5 paisa per sms , 1/2 paisa per sms means in 15 rs 3000 msg… U PLZ READ IT 0.5 PAISA PER SMS EVERYWHERE IN PLACE OF 5P/SMS………..TT PLEASE UPDATE IT BECAUSE ITS 10 TIMES HIGHER. plz read the bsnl circular again

Dear Telecom talk readers, now its time to think again on these high profit making companies like BSNL, IDEA, AIRTEL, VODAFONE and RELIANCE. These are the companies have high market share, but these are the companies hiking their tarrif as well as sms rates and also those are charging for voice calls in special festival days(they called these days as ‘blackout day’).
Now friends we should support those telecom players who provide voice and sms/internet tarrifs at low rates. These operators are TATA DOCOMO, AIRCEL, MTS, VIDEOCON and UNINOR. These operators are facing lots of problems to survive this industry but still providing good cheap tarrif service to their customers. So friends lets support and save these operators from telecom industry.

Who said that BSNL is a profit making company.. Bsnl is in loss for last 2 years..
Tata docomo recently hiked their internet tariff two times.. And their service is very poor..
Aircel ,Videocon , Mts and Uninor are going to stop their service in kerala… Then how can we chose these operators..

Aircel was good, but they Turned off Towers in Kerala circle (Before 1 month, they stopped postpaid connections, ussd codes, all recharges, Aircel outlets also closed down etc) without informing the Customers and did not give any notice to Customers to port out ! I had kept 1000 Rs Talktime in my aircel number and without Coverage how could I consume it ? They have 1700 towers in Kerala & around 1000 towers they turned off yesterday onwards. And they telling they are not shutting down, but implementing new Business model.. lol !! By turning off the towers, they are implementing the Business model.. Huh

Whatever companies are doing is not in anyone’s interest. It will hurt them and consumers also. The company with more customers will earn more. I understand 10p termination charge on other networks but what the hell is this 5p for own network also. What are these fixed monthly charges for?
These price hikes will definately make those users go or stop using services who bought mobile and become a user after 2009 when services become dirt cheap especially users in villages. Worst affected will be students, who have no income and start keeping phones because of low monthly expenditures which fell from around 300-350/month to 50-100 only.
Recently my friend asked me, Why companies are hiking prices? Before answering him, I asked him, when prices fell by 60-70 percent suddenly in 2009, why didn’t you asked the question that why prices fell so much? When something happens in your interest or benefiting you, you never ask question but if something reverse happens or start hitting your pocket, you wonder why it is happening.
It was getting difficult for companies to survive, now it will get difficult for consumers to continue and companies will again get nothing.
As far as using Internet apps for messaging is concerned, only 15-17 percent of mobile users use it. 27 percent have the Internet enabled phones but don’t know about it and find it hard to use Internet i.e subscribing and configuring phones, 60 percent still having phones that either don’t support Internet or is too old and can’t install apps. Even some phones released in 2010-11 don’t support apps like Whatsapp, Nimbuzz, Skype etc.

after reading the article i to recharged my no. by stv 13. i sent a national sms to my friend and found that with stv13 i got 24 loc and24 nat. sms balance. instead of 5p for all loc and nat for 30 days…. just a doom day ahead of new year..
