himangshu i think Airtel is the best network in all areas of Assam with no call cuts like other networks. I am using all networks services. But it is far better service than other networks. May be it slightly take higher charges than others but still the service is best. which everyone wants.

    Arif :
The day is near when there will be no concept of Roaming and STD. Whole India will be local soon. And call/SMS charges will come down. Every day new offers from operators.

Even now with BSNL’s ALL@49 plan, it is possible, where Local/STD/SMS/Roam is 49p/min.. RCom’s all simple plans also means same… DoCoMo’s 1p/sec is also applicable in roaming also.. It is just the Airtel, Voda, Idea, Aircel, MTS, who are hesitating to lower the roaming charges..

Also in 2010, there will be new plan with Roaming incoming @ FREE (with a cap of course) from the above said operators… Even now this FREE roaming incoming is available in BSNL’2 525plan, Indicom’s 3 roam plans, RCom’s 999plan.. But this will come to general prepaid also.. But again those Airtel/ Voda, Idea, Aircel will hesitate a lot to bring that offer, even with too many catches…

Then why use Virgin (still using since last 1.5yrs, but not much now, keeping it only to save the premium number, want to port when MNP comes)?

Go get MTS and you get the added advantage of 1p/2sec local to any network, with no rental/charges for lifetime… STD is cheap too with them.

This is going offtopic… that is why I suggested telecomtalk to open up a “ASK” section where people can submit their queries (to TT, they put up a post for the question) and we can help out by commenting there…

although in virgin there is rental of 30rs/m. but u get option of calling any network at anytime at cheaper rates. may b others also hv similar schemes. ultimately day call rates r more imp except for call centre staff.

Wish You Happy New Year 2010.
Now a day’s all network provider start providing free calls/ reduced call rates between 11 pm to 6 am or 7 am. But those timings are inconvenient timing for all the peoples. Any one come forward to provide reduced call rates/ free calls between 8 pm to 8 am in prepaid customers means most helpful rather than mid night plans. All this plans are just to increase the revenue of the company. Over all comparison VIRGIN mobile plans are good and attractive. Local Virgin to virgin mobile 10p, other local calls 3op and STD 50p (without rental).

I think now also the company hadnt given much offers for mobile internet usage. Companies should look to increase data usage by customers. It should be so affordable and fast that as mobile usage had spread the use of net should also be common among indians….

prey to God that instead of reducing std/roaming charges, they dont take the local charges to std/roaming level.
Remember our minister’s dream of one india rate where one ind rate of re 1 calling per min to anywhere in ind reduced std rates but increased local rates! coz instead of charging re 1 per 3 min, now local calls were also charged at per min pulse at re.1.
