Xiaomi is launching the Mi Pad 4 on June 25 side by side announcing the Redmi 6 Pro on the same day. The new tablet is going to mark some significant improvements over its predecessor. The main highlight of the new tablet by Xiaomi is the introduction of the Face Unlock technology, which makes it the first in the series to feature the particular function. A tipster has also leaked the RAM and storage variants options of the tab. Although there hasn’t been any official announcement from the company about the specs of the tablet, a report has surfaced online which hints towards the probable pricing of the device.

A poster was uploaded from Xiaomi's official Weibo account which points towards the inclusion of the facial recognition technology in the Mi Pad 4. The teaser also hints that there will not be any fingerprint sensor. However, it is being speculated that the facial recognition technology on the Mi Pad 4 is not going to be an advanced one, like the one we get to see on iPhone X or Xiaomi’s own Mi 8 Explorer edition. There has also been no update on whether or not the Mi Pad 4 will come with an infrared sensor, which would help it recognise faces in low light.

Slashleaks pointed out that the base model of Mi Pad 4 with 4GB RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage with only Wi-Fi connectivity will be priced at CNY 1,499 (approx. Rs 15,600). There is also an LTE model which will sport 6GB RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage and will come at the price of CNY 1,999 (approx. Rs 20,800). The predecessor to this device - Mi Pad 3 - was launched in April last year at a price point of CNY 1,499 (approx. Rs 14,100). Given that the third edition of the Mi Pad did not come with many design changes, it is expected that Mi Pad 4 will see some improvements in the design. Previous reports which highlighted that the Mi Pad 4 would sport Snapdragon 660 SoC also has been confirmed.

As per Ishan Agarwal, the known tipster, the Mi Pad 4 will debut in two models for Wi-Fi - 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage and 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage. According to him, there is also going to be an LTE model with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage. As per his claims, the tablet is going to come in Black and Gold colour options.

The poster also highlighted smart game acceleration which will show up on the Mi Pad 4. There is also going to be single rear camera setup at the back, on this tablet. Some of the previous reports about the Mi Pad 4 highlighted that the tablet would pack a 6000mAh battery. As for the camera, the Mi Pad 4 would sport 13MP OmniVision OV13855 sensor with f/2.0 aperture. For the selfies, a 5MP Samsung S5K5E8 sensor with f/2.0 aperture is expected. The Mi Pad 4 has also been expected to make its place as one of the few devices to receive the latest MIUI 10 update.
