Xiaomi Mi Max 2 with 5,300mAh Battery and 4GB RAM Launched in India

In an event hosted by Xiaomi in Delhi today, the company had launched the Mi Max 2 which comes as the successor to last year’s Xiaomi Mi Max smartphone. Xiaomi is known for cramming the best possible hardware into their smartphones at the lowest possible prices and has a remarkable fan base in India, where customers lean toward budget smartphones. The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 was first launched in China earlier in May this year and its India-launch event today was live-streamed by thousands across the country.

The Mi Max 2 is launched in India for Rs. 16,999 and in with a single 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage option. The Mi Max 2 packs in a much bigger 6.44-inch display than its predecessor, with Full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top for scratch resistance. The device sports a metal unibody design with muted antennas on the back that gives off a premium look. Weighing in at 211 grams, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 measures 174.10 x 88.7 x 7.6 mm.

Under the hood, the device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. When it comes to the camera department, the handset comes with a 12MP sensor with f/1.7 aperture sitting at the back. Xiaomi highlights the camera of the Mi Max 2 as the one used in the flagship Mi 6. A 5MP snapper sits on the front.

The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is internally backed by an impressive 5,300mAh battery equipped with fast charging support and parallel charge support. The Mi Max 2 runs on Android Nougat with its own MIUI 8 skin on top and its connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Gyroscope, Accelerometer, Type-C USB port and 4G compatibility.

The device comes with added features like Stereo Sound for enhanced gaming and multimedia experience, and a fingerprint sensor mounted on the back panel. The Mi Max 2 comes in gold and matte black colour options in India.

Xiaomi has also partnered with Reliance Jio and offering additional 100GB data for the Mi Max 2 buyers. Also, the company has announced the launch of two new Mi Homes in Bangalore.

Xiaomi is holding a special third-anniversary sale in the country on July 21 and July 22 in Mi.com, where the Mi Max 2 will be up for sale at Rs. 16,999. The Mi Max 2 is also the first Xiaomi smartphone to sell in both online and offline stores on the same day. The device will be up for sale from July 28.
