India’s leading GSM mobile services operator Vodafone Essar, has reached a new milestone with its ‘Go Green and Save Trees’ initiative in Rajasthan. It has succeeded in saving over 60,000 paper pages by promoting online bill access in a marathon drive and the aim is to bring it closer to a paperless organization.
“Go Green and Save Tress” initiative encourages Vodafone postpaid customers to reduce the usage of paper by opting for the online mobile bill. Vodafone Rajasthan launched the initiative in August 2008 with 589 customers and within 10 months more than 15,000 customers have joined Vodafone in its drive to save paper.
To activate this service,Vodafone customers have to send a toll free SMS, STOP BILL <MAIL-ID> to 111 for registering their email id for the electronic bill.
