Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL), the third-largest telecom operator in the country, has announced the deployment of 900 MHz band spectrum in 3000 sites across Kolkata. This will improve the indoor network experience for users in the city. The telco recently acquired the 900 MHz band spectrum from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). Kolkata is one of the regions where Vi wants to improve the network experience for its customers.
The 900 MHz band will allow the telecom operator to improve coverage. Customers of Vi who were facing indoor coverage issues should find it resolved soon. Apart from Kolkata, Vi has deployed the 900 MHz band in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Haryana recently. The fundraising activity and the recent spectrum acquisition will help Vi in upgrading networks and improving performance for customers as soon as possible.
