As reported earlier, Vodafone has started offering 4G SIM upgrade to their customers in Gujarat; now some sources say that the company is preparing for its 4G launch in the last week of this month. According to sources, “the company has successfully tested its network in few pockets and yet to roll out services in last week of the current month for masses. However, the company hasn't scheduled any dates but it might happen on 27th June.”
Like other circles, initially Vodafone would launch its 4G LTE network in high ARPU generating city areas and commercial areas of Gujarat circle where the company has huge data demands. Vodafone's 4G network would be based on FDD standard for which it is using spectrum in Band 3.
Vodafone has also deployed additional cell sites to offer better indoor coverage. With this 4G launch, Vodafone would become first operator in the state to commercially launch 4G services. Other rivals, including Airtel & RJio, would be the other 4G networks providers post their service launch.
As Gujarat is one of the key circles of Vodafone where the company has 20 million subscribers on its network; so the LTE network can boost their data usage as well as it can attract new customers from rival networks as others aren't offering 4G services in the state.
