The spectrum auction completed 7 rounds of bidding, bringing the total up to 104 rounds till date. "At the end of 104th round, about 88 per cent of the spectrum has been provisionally allocated to bidders. In the 800MHz band there was activity in Bihar, UP East, Madhya Pradesh and North East circles. in 1800MHz band bidding activity was seen in UP East and West circles. The 2100MHz band did not see fresh bids.
By the end of the 104th round there was surplus demand in 800MHz band in Bihar and UP East circles. In 900MHz band there was surplus demand in UP East circle. The auction will continue on Tuesday as there is still some spectrum left which is yet to be sold.
The government is not disclosing the names of the successful bidders as yet as a case is pending before the Supreme Court. The next hearing on the case is on March 26. Keep reading TT for more updates on the auction process.
