Telefonica and Digi Spain have signed a new 16-year mobile network agreement, set to begin on January 1, 2025. This extended partnership allows the subsidiary of Romania's Digi Communications Group to continue using the Spanish operator's mobile network for a further 16 years. With this new agreement, Telefonica increases its sustainability by ensuring a long-term revenue stream in line with the existing one, Telefonica said in an announcement this week.

Extended Partnership
This extended deal will evolve the existing mobile access contract by including National Roaming and RAN Sharing services, as well as an extension of the existing fixed broadband wholesale agreement.
"This agreement strengthens the ties between the two companies by optimising the return on network investments," the official release said, noting that this deal is proof of the quality of Telefonica's national network infrastructure and the ability to deliver high-quality services over that infrastructure.
