SIKKIM TO GET 3G SERVICE BY AUGUST

Sachin-Pilot-GangtokThe Union Minister of State for Communication and Information Technology Sachin Pilot in Gangtok citied that 3G service will be launched in the state by August 15th 2009 and also quoted BSNL would increase its broadband strength to 30 GB PPS in the state to improve its services.

All the 26 blocks in the State would be covered by broadband services within 100 days after review meeting with BSNL, Postal Department and State I&T in Gangtok.




The Minister said, traffic congestion in mobile services in twenty one sectors of the State would be removed by 15th August, 2009.

On account of improved quality of service by BSNL Pilot also added that special measure has been taken to improve the quality of services in North East through communication and information technology, with specific emphasis to Sikkim.
