Shimoga, Karnataka is the next on the 4G list of Airtel! The operator has made the commercial launch of 4G services in Shimoga, taking the number of its 4G towns in Karnataka to 110. The service will be available to customers across a wide range of devices including mobile phones, dongles, 4G hotspots and Wi-Fi dongles.
Surendran, CEO – Karnataka, Bharti Airtel Ltd shared his excitement about the launch. “Today, as we launch Airtel 4G for our customers in Shimoga, they will have the opportunity to experience high-speed 4G data. We are committed to building a world-class 4G network in Karnataka and with this launch we are one step closer to creating a digital superhighway in the region,” he said.
“As customers in India show an increasing propensity for consuming data services, we at Airtel are excited to take the lead in introducing the market to the power of blazing 4G speeds,” he added.
Mr. Surendran gave the credit of Airtel 4G success to the company’s Project Leap, the network transformation and expansion program. Rs. 60,000 crore is invested in the initiative to improve the network quality and delivering the best customer experience.
“Earlier in November 2015, Airtel launched its Rs. 60,000 crore ‘Project Leap’. It has also launched a special website www.airtel.in/leap that allows customers to know everything on Project Leap, is progressing in their respective localities,” he said.
In Karnataka, Airtel 4G services are available to customers in Mysore, Mangalore, Hubli, Davanagere, Chikmagalur, Tumkur, Udupi, Manipal, Belgaum, Gulbarga, to name a few apart from Bangalore.
