Samsung Galaxy A6+ Will Reportedly Feature Snapdragon 450 SoC

Samsung's upcoming mid-range Galaxy A6 and the Galaxy A6+ smartphones are in the news for a while now. The A6+ was recently spotted on the company's website and both the phones already received necessary certifications such as Wi-Fi. But what we don't know is the spec-sheet of both the phones. However, that has changed now as a tipster from Indonesia has tweeted the key specifications of both the phones. A benchmark leak earlier this month stated that the Galaxy A6 would come with Samsung's own Exynos SoC, while the A6+ will feature a Snapdragon SoC. And the tipster claims the same. The Galaxy A6, as per the new leak will come with Exynos 7870 octa-core chipset, whereas the Galaxy A6+ will come with the Snapdragon 450 SoC, which is quite surprising.

Besides the processor, few more details of the smartphones have leaked too. The Galaxy A6 will come with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, 5.6-inch Full HD+ Infinity display (Yes, finally Samsung is looking to bring the 18:9 display tech to mid-range phones), 441 PPI, and of course, the Exynos 7870 octa-core chip will power the smartphone.

Coming to the Galaxy A6+, it will have a 6-inch Full HD+ display with 2220 × 1080 pixels resolution, 441 PPI, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. And the chipset is said to be the Snapdragon 450 SoC, which is quite surprising.

In the past too, a couple of reports from China revealed that the Galaxy A6+ would come with the Snapdragon 450 SoC and a recognised member of slashleaks also posted the same on Twitter. It will be interesting to see how Samsung prices the Galaxy A6+ because we have the Xiaomi Redmi 5 with the same chipset at just Rs 7,999. Of course, we should expect Samsung to launch the phones at the same price, but anything above Rs 15,000 will make no sense for the brand to even launch the smartphone.

Also, it's said that the bigger A6+ will have IP68 water and dust resistance, which is quite surprising. As of now, there's no info on when the smartphones will be released in the Indian market or in other markets. But with the specifications leaking, we might see them go official in the next couple of weeks.
