Reliance communications is popular among mobile data subscribers who need high speed Data at low tariff. Rcom has 3G spectrum in 13 circles and ICRA with Aircel in another 5 circles. It gained a major share of the 3G market by offering 3G data at 2G rates for smartphones. Though the quality of 3G network of Rcom is inferior to that of Airtel, Vodafone and Idea in most circles, they still continue to hold a major portion of the data market due to its pricing strategy. But with its latest move Rcom seems to be losing this advantage as well, it has reduced the bundled data in the popular Rs.177 pack in Delhi circle which earlier offered 1GB data now offers only 600MB which implies a 40% reduction. Reliance did not send out any prior intimation of this change to the existing users of this pack to warn them before the next recharge date.

The Rs.177 pack in Delhi offers 600MB data at 3G speeds plus unlimited usage of Twitter, Facebook and Whatsapp for 30 days. In all other circles it continues to offer 1GB 3G data with unlimited TW/FB/WA for 30 days. In Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh circle it offers 2GB 3G data with unlimited TW/FB/WA for 30 days.
For Delhi subscribers we suggest to recharge with Rs.197 pack instead which gives 1.25GB 3G data with unlimited TW/FB/WA for 30 days. Also the Rs.197 pack is eligible for the world cup special free data for runs scored by India. Alternatively Rs.247 pack gives 1.25GB 3G data with unlimited TW/FB/WA along with Rs.100 promotional talk time with 30 days validity. In Mumbai the Rs.246 voucher gives 2GB 3G data with unlimited TW/FB/WA for 30 days.
