The GSM operators especially the AVoId group has been on a data tariff hike in the recent times. Most of the operators have either reduced the data offering or reduced the validity keeping the pack denomination unchanged, others have hiked the denomination keeping the data offering and validity unchanged.
CDMA has been the technology of choice for people who prefer a more robust network and seek value for money tariffs but do not mind compromising on the choice of available handsets. But with the recent price hikes the gap between tariff of CDMA and GSM is reducing which is upsetting to the CDMA subscriber base.
When Reliance had first launched the Rs.94 plan a couple of years back it used to offer 6GB EvDO data with 180 days validity, later this was revised to 1.5GB EvDO data with 30 days validity, and now the same Rs.94 pack offers 1GB EvDO data with just 21 days validity.
The Rs.123 pack now offers 1.5GB EvDO data with 30 days validity, Rs.246 pack gives 4GB EvDO data with 30 days validity. For the CDMA subscribers who don’t mind compromising on speed but want more data at lower tariff, Reliance has launched a new Rs.149 data pack in Maharashtra circle which offers 30GB 1x data with 30 days validity.
The availability of the Rs.149 pack varies from circle to circle, readers are advised to check with customer care before recharging with this denomination.
