OxygenOS 9.0.4 Update Rolled Out to OnePlus 6T, Brings Improvements to Night Scape Mode and More

The OnePlus 6T is now official. The smartphone was launched in India yesterday at an event in New Delhi. In India, the OnePlus 6T will retail for a starting price tag of Rs 37999. This price is for the base model which comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. OnePlus has always been very committed at rolling out regular software updates to its phones, and for the OnePlus 6T as well it follows the same strategy. Having said that, OnePlus 6T has got its first Oxygen OS update today. The OxygenOS 9.0.4 is rolling out to all OnePlus 6T now.

Although the update isn't a major one, it brings some tweaks to the camera of the phone. The rollout of the software update was announced on the OnePlus Forum via a blog post. In the post OnePlus clearly mentions that this new update brings improvements to the Night Scape mode, added studio lighting to enhance pictures, and some system updates.

OnePlus 6T Gets First Software Update Via OxygenOS 9.0.4

The OxygenOS 9.0.4 update brings improvements to screen unlock or in other words in-display fingerprint sensor, new navigation gestures, and optimises standby tomorrow power consumption. The update also comes packed with the November Android security patch and general bug fixes and improvements. Right out of the box, the 6T will run Android 9 Pie based on OxygenOS 9.0, but users will receive an update immediately which will bump the version number to OxygenOS 9.0.4.

How to Install the Update

The blog post mentions that the OxygenOS update is rolling out now, so to check whether you've got it or not, head to the Settings menu of the phone. To check, go to the system updates section on the phone and find out of you have received the update. If yes, before installing the update ensure to connect your phone to a Wi-Fi network and also create a backup to all your existing data.

In case you haven't received the update, you can download the latest version of OxygenOS via Oxygen Updater application, which It’ll allow you to download and flash the latest version of the software. Reportedly, the full update ZIP comes in at 1.5GB.

OnePlus 6T Sale Begins Tomorrow in India

The OnePlus 6T will be available for purchase in India starting tonight. So users will be greeted with a system update right out of the box. The update weighs around 1.5GB and can be installed over-the-air. As for the pricing, the phone will be available at a starting price of Rs 37,999 and goes all the up to Rs 45,999. It's an Amazon Exclusive smartphone, but very soon, OnePlus will start selling the phones through Reliance Digital Stores as well.
