Nokia 8, HMD Global's first Nokia flagship smartphone was launched last month, and just a month later, the smartphone is said to come in a new variant featuring more RAM and storage. Recently, the Nokia 8 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage was spotted on FCC site, hinting the variant's availability in the US.
Just yesterday, it was reported that HMD Global has officially confirmed the launch of Nokia 8 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage in Germany. And today, we have another report revealing the colour options and pricing of the variant in Germany. A report by WinFuture claims that HMD Global is looking to launch the smartphone at an event in Germany on October 20.
Also, the report highlighted that the premium Nokia 8 variant will be offered in a single "Polished Blue" colour option, and expected to carry a price tag of Euro 669 (approx. Rs. 51,800). To recall, the standard variant of the Nokia 8 costs Euro 579.
Nokia 8 is launching in India tomorrow, but only the 4GB RAM variant is expected to land in the country. Besides the extra 2gigs of RAM and doubled storage, the premium variant of the Nokia 8 features similar specifications as the standard Nokia 8.
The Nokia 8 flaunts a 5.3-inch QHD IPS LCD display with a 2.5D curved glass and Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset along with Adreno 540 GPU to handle the graphics.
HMD has added a dual camera at the back, which is also the highlight and USP of the device. For the cameras on the Nokia 8, HMD has teamed up with Zeiss, who is one of the pioneers in the imaging technology. The Nokia 8 rocks three 13MP cameras- two at the back, and one at the front.
One 13MP sensor acts as an RBG sensor, while the other one is a monochrome sensor. Both the sensors work in tandem to capture portrait images. Also, the Nokia 8 has a 'Bothie' feature, which allows you to use both the cameras at the same time. Also, you can broadcast the video using the bothie feature. The Nokia 8 has a 13MP selfie camera.
The smartphone boots Android 7.1 Nougat, but the Android 8.0 Oreo is already under testing for the smartphone. Additionally, the Nokia 8 is an IP54 certified device, meaning it will sustain water splashes. This entire package of the Nokia 8 is backed by a 3090mAh battery.
As said earlier, the Nokia 8 will be launched in India tomorrow, and the price of the device is expected to be below Rs. 45,000.
